[Pfeiffer] New Year, New Doctor
Pfeiffer.
I was going to write a whole article about 'blah blah eRep blah' and how we should all try to be efficient clickers while we screw around on Steam or clickan games or something...but the Doctor regenerated on Christmas and I'm still caught up in that.
I mean really, regenerations take like six months to settle in the mind. That's why they always make us wait forever for the next series. They know we wouldn't be ready for the Doctor in another fortnight or something.
9 months seems a bit long though.
Now, to 'business':
I got a few games together over the break with eRep people, but not as many as I planned. Apologies, but actual people who could smack me for ignoring them demanded my attention. Also, I spent a lot of time writing and rewriting things in anticipation of a few meetings (which are ongoing, and progressing fairly well).
Don't forget to pop into #Pfeiffer to chat (I'll be on presently, settling into the office after a fortnight out is rough). No client? Clicky click.
Bowties are still cool.
On the Congressional front, not much interesting is happening. But, that's normal. I was lax over the holiday (again, moreso than intended), but hope to be back in fighting shape for next week to hold another Q & A thread on something...maybe a why do/have we liked/disliked this person/country.
I suggest you pop over to the forum if interested in seeing the handful of discussions which are ongoing. Otherwise, don't and go do something better with your day.
Oh, also vote for Wild Owl in your primaries/on the 5th. Thanks.
Normally this is where I'd have a Taylor image or seven, but she's taking a break due to the Doctor being the only thing my brain can handle right now. Regenerations are so hard.
Instead, have some Amelia Pond. Yes, Amelia. Much better than Amy as a name. I mean really, it's brilliant. Like a name from a fairy tale.
This is when my brain melted. Forever a Pond.
As always, if needed, I remain
Yours,
~Pfeiffer

Rest now my warrior. Rest now, your hardship is over
Raggedy Man, goodnight.
Stop you'll make me cry!
Horice 😒...
The tears are the point.
New series is in 9 months because BBC almost cancelled it after Moffat wasted script after script and pissed off actors and writers alike with his control freak ways.
I have no idea why they felt like they couldn't sack him.
>popularity through the roof
>finally breaking the American market
>says BBC was considering scrapping the show now
you are dumb
The state of the production was such that normally they would have, thought obviously for the reasons you state they didn't.
Amy Pond ❤
Probably the companion I became the most emotionally invested in. Karen Gillan is a gem.
Big big vote!!!!

Oh, Amy!
ooooooooooooooo lala
'Bow Ties are still cool'.
Sadly, that is the only thing I agree with...
Who is John Galt?
and no fluffy, he is not food.
a nobody
A fictional Ayn Rand character?
Did anyone else hate the fact the regeneration was like less than a second? Like it was the worse way for Matt Smith to go. Like When it went from Tennant to Smith it was this whole cool thing where he's like "I don't wanna go." I hope they bring him back for another more than one doctor special. Like Smith and Tennant in the 50th episode were fucking amazing.
The change takes about the same amount every time. One second he's the Doctor, then a second later he's the Doctor. The fact that he didn't glow doesn't mean that it went 'faster', it just means he wasn't glowing. That entire time from the moment he swallowed the new regeneration set he was in the process.
I guess that's true but I wanted it to go a little like Tennant's regen or Eccleston's. Where he had the slow light up completely and then after the glow was gone it was the new guy there. Where this time no glow it was just Matt Smith did the whole arch his back thing and then bam the new one. I'm just saying I think the regeneration could of still looked like the other ones even though not all of them did the whole glow thing. Some of the old ones were just picture transitions from one character to the next. I think the full on glow made it more intense. Where this time it was like a snap and he already changed.
Continuity in regeneration is a new thing. The early Doctors all changed in different ways. Matt still glowed and shot fire from his hands and face and shit, he just kept control long enough for his speechifying at the end.
Agreed. While Smith wasn't my favorite Doctor (Pertwee), it was like they shorted Smith (Yes, he used regeneration energy to destroy the enemy fleets, so it was a little longer) with one of those high speed scripts that touch on a bunch of things to essentially regenerate on a sneeze. To me, the Christmas Special was a bit of a let down after the 50th Anniversary Special... it wasn't fair to Smith to be essentially kicked out the door, so that Moffat could be credited with breaking the regeneration limit. Not to mention, it destroys the continuity of merchandise and all fans have to go back and add in Hurt!
And the weirdest regeneration had to be Baker to Davidson with his future cocoon self stalking him as a Watcher through the story. "Hi! Hello! You're gonna die! Just quietly waiting! Could you speed it up and fall off of that tower? I've got my stories to film! Thanks! I'll just sit here with my cuppa tea waiting!"

doctor who sucks...
No you suck...
I haven't started Doctor Who yet, I guess I should.
You should.
John Pertwee regeneration was the best one ever. Now THAT was a Dr Who. Find it on YouTube, check out the Brigadier.
I've watched a good chunk of the classics. Partial to Tom Baker and Peter Davison, personally. Would have liked more of Hartnell.
It was a great episode and Amelia Pond was always my favorite
Welcome back in Emerika!
I never really realized this until this regeneration.
The last lines of The Doctor don't come from the Doctor himself, but from the actor.
