I could spin you a fabulous tale about how wonderful everything will be, and how I will bring you the greatest baby boom since 2009, but that would be a lie. Some may promise you they can do such a thing, and some will post in the comments about how wrong I am and how if “I just did this thing it could be great!” But not a single one of them would be able to accomplish it. Why? Because there is nothing new and interesting in this game.

The proof is in the clones. There are a plethora of eRep clones out there that all have failed miserably with the erep crowd. Because we compare all of them to this and while this game is dying/dead, it was the best of them.


What I can, and will, promise is that I will put together a great domestic team that will help me give you something to keep you occupied. At this point it is more about retention than recruitment. If I find something that will bring in a new people, I’ll be more than happy to do it.

I thought quite a bit about how to attract new people and in all honesty the only way to accomplish it, at this point, is to retain the people we have and hope they attract new players.

The days of world wars that generate battles that excite people for longer than 10 minutes are gone. The game just doesn’t have that capability anymore.

BUT

What we do have the means to accomplish is retention. Create domestic programs that help people fight in the battles we do have.


I was speaking with Rainy the other day about the possibility of restarting AA using the eUS feed. I have to admit that the one thing Plato has done that has helped our community is giving us that feed. It allows for the creation of programs that don’t need a forum and can be run without forms. WhydoIbother proved that to all of us with AARP.

Other than bringing back AA I am looking for new ideas for using the eUS feed. If you have any ideas on that subject post them in the comments below or pm me. It has always been my belief that retention is as much of the community’s job as it is DoCA’s. You should have a chance to help us find programs that will keep you here and playing.


We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too.
