[MoFA] Waiting for the Break

Day 2,211, 14:51 Published in Ireland Ireland by Irish Foreign Ministry

While we wait for our rental with the US to go in effect, the whole world continues to wait for the inevitable break of TWO.

MPP UPDATE

We will be experimenting with our MPP stack this term, and shrinking the number of MPPs down to potentially 5. This is to save some money, which we could better use on COs, and still ensure our citizens have daily orders to fight for. We will be choosing allies that are both close to us, and have plenty of action this term. This does not mean these are the only nations we will fight for. We have always held strikes for many of our allies, whether we hold MPPs with them or not, and we will continue to support any ally who asks for our help as best we can.

An important note is that the MPPs we select cannot be shared with the US, until after our rental agreement is in effect, and our brief war with the US has ended. Otherwise, the MPPs will become ineffective upon the US's invasion. Therefore, we will hold off on signing those MPPs until later this term.

A few nations have been contacted so far. Bulgaria has already stated its willingness to renew our MPP when the time comes. o7

WHAT IS TO COME

Anyone who reads around in global media knows the backstory of the drama between TWO nations. For those who don't, I'll give a brief explanation. Serbia, along with their new TWO friends Australia, Greece, and Argentina (and others), had strong problems with Spain's friendship with ROLA (primarily South American CoT nations). When Spain continued to sign MPPs with those nations, drama quickly escalated. Since then, Spain and Serbia have been in somewhat of a "cold war" struggle in HQ. Recently, TWO's ex-SC (Serbian) attempted to hold a secret meeting to kick Spain from the alliance, and bring in CUA nations. The plan backfired and was voted down, and the SC was removed and replaced with another Serbian SC.

The majority of predictions place Serbia, Greece, Australia and Argentina in one alliance, and Poland and Spain in the other. Both ex-CoT nations and TWO nations would then choose sides. The US, Bulgaria and Croatia are predicted to join Spoland. CUA is predicted to join Serbia. Hungary and the UK are likely to join either side, but most predict the UK will join Spoland and Hungary will support Serbia.

What does this mean for Ireland? It means that many predict that some of our closest allies may align themselves with some of our historical enemies. The smartest thing for us to do right now is to not burn any bridges, and to use caution when publicly criticizing nations. If our own allies are willing to forgive our/their enemies, we should consider doing the same. Please tread carefully and keep an open mind in the times to come, as we don't want to unintentionally close any doors and damage our chances of joining an alliance in the future.

AIRSTRIKE

There's been much talk of a potential airstrike for us in the future. Most have supported this idea, with a few responding negatively. Rest assured, our government will take caution and have patience with this, as it requires heavy investment. It would be nice to see ourselves in another part of the world, and becoming offensive militarily. It would be nice for us to have some fun and not have to be so defensive for a change, however, we must wait to see how the break of TWO plays out.

Our cabinet will continue to look at potential targets for when the right time comes. We will calculate the estimated costs and the damage we need. We will do everything we can to ensure our efforts will be successful, but the process will take patience. Many of our allies are too busy to offer too much help if we choose to be an aggressor, but when TWO breaks, and large nations are preoccupied, the opportunity will be much sweeter. To conclude, further details on this project will remain out of the public and will discussed in the cabinet and dail threads, for security purposes.

Do you want to get involved in Foreign Affairs? Help your country? Meet new players from around the world? We are still looking for more talent in the Irish Ambassador Program. We request that anyone interested pm Raven Anarcho, Don Croata, or Bhane. We have also started our Diplomatic Corps, which will specialize in covert missions along with higher impacts and responsibilities on building relations. If you have been an ambassador in the past and wish to continue your work, are abroad in another nation, or are a new player looking to get more involved in the game, we'd love to work with you.
