[MoFA] This month in MoFA; Lancer450 speaks about eAus; Warfare Analysis

Day 1,876, 23:14 Published in United Kingdom North Macedonia by Foreign Office

Hello there and welcome to the second article of the UK Foreign Office for January 2013. We have started a discussion on the forums about what the people would like to see included in our work this month. In essense, it gives the citizens of the UK the ability to personalise the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this month.

So far in said topic, it has been brought up about having more ambassador involvement in articles produced by the Ministry. I will be speaking with Sir Nick and Jimbojoy with ways we can get this to work.

There were several suggestions about interviews and that will definitely go ahead.

In any case, these opening lines grant you the ability to suggest things that we can do aside from the usual foreign affairs updates. What information would you like to see us provide? What do you want to see from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this month?

Comment on this article or send a message over to me - Thomas765 - and we'll see what we can do!

To start off this month, an interview was conducted with Lancer450, currently a UK citizen but was once an Australian citizen. He has recently proposed the signing of a new mutual protection pact between the UK and Australia. Here it is:

You were Australian before. What did you get up to there before coming here?
Well, when I was in eAustralia, I was very much involved in politics and government. I was very eager to get involved from the very beginning. I was in the eAustralian Senate numerous times, I was the Party President of the then-largest political party in the country, the Australian Independents, I was the Deputy Speaker of the Senate for a month, I was also a Deputy Minister of Information and Minister of Information in the Majester government, I was an ambassador to several countries including the eUSA, eSouth Africa, and the ePhilippines, and I was Country President/Prime Minister in November of 2011.

Though, I was not necessarily restricted to politics. I was the 2nd Commander of the Australian Freedom Unit, which was the second largest and most powerful military unit in eAustralia. And, I also was quite active in the media. I hosted both the first and second annual eAustralian National Awards, I would do regular war updates including international affairs, and I would publish comedic pieces every once in a while as well.

Then, before I came here, I became Inspector General and served for about two months before leaving.

When moving to the UK, was it a massive change (in erep terms) to Australia, given that we are slightly larger and on the other side of the alliance divide?
To be honest, I thought it was going to be pretty difficult to adjust to another country in general, let alone a country with almost three times the population of eAustralia. In the end, it came down to meeting new people and making new friends. Getting connected with others is the first thing I made sure to do and I think it helped me out a lot. Plus, I've come to find that eAustralia and the eUK are nearly identical - the same arguments, the same factions, etc. So, it wasn't really that confusing to figure out the political landscape and find my place. As for the alliance divide, that never crossed my mind. eAustralia was officially neutral for months and I knew eAustralians who had moved to the eUK as well as people from the eUK who had moved to eAustralia in the past. So, it really was a non-issue.

Where would you like to see UK Foreign Affairs go in the long term?
I would like to see the eUK developing not only more friendships with other nations, but stronger ones as well. This is a strategy game after all and we are too small of a nation to wipe entire countries alone unless they're the size of eBelgium. I want to see the eUK maintaining great, strategic relations with CoT/TWO countries like ePoland and eSerbia as well as keeping the door open to more nations who genuinely want to join CoT/TWO and fight alongside us in order to maintain a strong position in the eWorld.

Do you believe that friendship with Australia would last, given that we have been fighting on opposite sides for so long?
I 100% believe that a friendship between the eUK and eAustralia would last. We may have been fighting on opposite sides for a while, but given I was once an eAustralian and I can tell you that most eAustralians had no idea why that is so. To us, the real enemy was ALWAYS eIndonesia and now even that notion is beginning to erode. This is mainly because of the geographic locations of our two countries. The eUK just seemed like far away supporters of eIndonesia. The eUK was so far removed that I personally never had a problem with anybody from the eUK and never thought of the eUK as really part of the problem. It wasn’t the eUK who was wiping us after all.

eAustralia and eAustralians have begun to realise what must be done in order to maintain some self-preservation. I remember when I first began eRepbulik, we were members of the EDEN alliance and the same cycle kept repeating itself. EDEN would take their monthly payment from us, help us out for a couple battles maybe once every two months, and then leave us high and dry ultimately resulting in us being wiped once more. It was not a beneficial situation. So, while I was CP, my cabinet and I made the decision to withdraw from the EDEN alliance and become officially neutral. As not to bore anybody, in short, this move towards pro-ONE/CoT/TWO has been happening for a very long time and now the eWorld is finally seeing it and eAustralia is changing their MPP stack to be officially pro-CoT/TWO. It may have taken a while, but the people understand diplomacy is what is needed now. Fighting eChile, eNZ, and eIndo is just not the smart thing to do anymore. To be the only pro-EDEN nation or the only neutral nation in the area is not possible unless they want to be continually wiped indefinitely. Their reserves are running out, the economy is horrible, the population has declined by about 200 citizens since I left just a few months back. Things are bad.

The large majority of eAustralians I talk to feel that it is time that this finally happens. And given it has taken this long for eAustralia to shift to pro-CoT shows just how loyal eAustralia is. I have no doubt that eAustralia will be a great ally to have.

Any additional comments with regards to your proposal for an MPP with Australia?
The last thing I would like to add is that eAustralia is a magnificent country full that is full of great people. Though they may have just as many internal problems as we do, they are great allies and are a force to be reckoned with despite their small population size. With eAustralia alongside us, we will have all of Oceania with us which greatly benefits us given they are in a different time zone. I have heard a few people are concerned about the cost of the MPP and I will personally pay for the first month if need be. A friend of mine, a former eAussie and RL Australian, has offered to do that as well. I would like to mention that their Senate has already passed a proposal on their forums to MPP the eUK. This proves they are serious about forming a friendly, beneficial relationship with us. A MPP between our two countries is something I really believe in and I would love to see it happen.

War of the Worlds

The battle between China and Spain opened up yesterday, with Spain attacking Guangdong. Despite initially having TWO support, our allies were unable to overcome EDEN in the battle.

Meanwhile back in Europe, there were two significant battles that should be noted. Bulgaria and Greece were at each others' throats again, this time with an intense amount of tanking from the Greek sides. The battle of Jizan was Greece's last stand in the Middle East, having had all of their original regions conquered by our allies, Serbia and Macedonia. Despite heavy tanking, Bulgaria were able to win in the end, wiping Greece off the map for the first time in over a year. This has overshadowed a recent article published in the media featuring an interview with the EDEN Supreme Commander, who called Macedonia "MKD" instead of the usual typically EDEN insult towards our allies in Macedonia. This sparked some controversy among a few Greek citizens. In any case, Bulgaria's ultimate victory against Greece was seen as an act of vengeance against the nation after Greece attacked Bulgaria after they defected from EDEN. In addition, this battle will have some long term effects on geopolitics as the Middle East area was once a stronghold for powerful EDEN nations.

The battle against Turkey also waged on. Turkey's last stand on the continent was futile and they have since been forced into an original region of the United Arab Emirates. All original Turkish regions now belong to Hungary and Bulgaria.

A full analysis of foreign affairs is due to come at some point this week. Warfare analysis may be included in every article.
