【MoFA】The current alliance structure

Day 3,803, 09:00 Published in United Kingdom North Macedonia by Foreign Office

Greetings, Mad Paulys. Today, we will be visiting the wonderful world of international alliances. For a long time, alliances were unofficial groupings of countries, and to an extent this is still true today. However, the basis for international alliances is publicly viewable (albeit largely inaccurate and out of date) in the alliance rankings. For those too lazy to view, this article today will focus on introducing the three main alliances active today; Pacifica, Andes and Asteria. Whilst a view of their ingame structure will show some countries, I will be including 'unofficial' members of each alliance. Whilst these countries are not members of the alliances they are listed under, they are de-facto members as they rely on these alliances for their defence.

Pacifica, for the purpose of this article, is judged to include the following countries: USA, Poland, Russia, Republic of China (Taiwan), Colombia, Latvia, Finland, Sweden, and Mexico. The alliance has always struggled for damage, especially after the decision was taken to kick Hungary out in the not too distant past.

The alliance has had wars with both Asteria and Andes nations, but in recent months found itself being described as an Asterian symbiote; reliant upon a peace with Asteria for its survival. Thus, an unspoken and uneasy peace existed between the two. This peace was eventually shattered with the invasion of a Pacifica member, USA, by pro-Asterian members this month. Since then, many have written the alliance off, assuming it is on borrowed time. However, as of yet, whilst countries have reportedly started talks to leave, the alliance itself remains active (if not bruised). A summary of the alliance's damage can be seen here;

Andes for the purpose of this article, is judged to be made up of the following countries: Argentina, Chile, Venezuela, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Croatia, Albania, Australia, Turkey, Hungary, Greece, Egypt, Ireland, Thailand, The Philippines, South Korea and Cyprus. This alliance is basically a collection of countries who tried to work together in a past alliance (found here), which was ultimately defeated by Asteria. Since the end of that alliance, these countries have banded together, and whilst the majority of their collective force was used against Asteria, during the Asteria-Pacifica peace, they started to also challenge Pacifica, culminating in the rude insertions discussed previously in this newspaper.

A summary of the damage of this grouping can be seen here:

Please note, due to the vast number of countries here, my pie chart couldn't fit The Philippines (1.0😵 or Bolivia (0.1😵 and Paraguay (0.1😵.
Asteria for the purpose of this article, is judged to be made up of the following countries: Serbia, Romania, Slovenia, Peru, Iran, Lithuania, Portugal, China, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Spain, The United Kingdom and Ukraine. Essentially, Asteria has been, and remains 'the one to beat' on the international front. It is made up of some of the strongest countries in the world and enjoys a significant damage advantage in the main 'action' hours of the game. Whilst there was an awkward peace with Pacifica, this seems to be coming to a point in the near future; whilst Asteria has actively invaded some Pacifica nations, it has actively defended others. Thus, unless Pacifica in it's current form changes, or some kind of deal is made, there will eventually be another Asteria-Pacifica war. Whilst maligned by many for being a boring alliance, it's undeniable that it has been as dominant as any other alliance in history. A summary of the alliance's damage can be found here:

Now that we have seen were each of the active alliances draws their power from, let's begin to compare the alliances! Firstly, let's compare the alliances two at a time, so we can see how they stack up against one another;

Key: Red - Andes, Blue - Asteria

Key: Red - Pacifica, Blue - Asteria

Key: Red - Pacifica, Blue - Andes

Key: Red - Andes and Pacifica, Blue - Asteria

Finally, I'd just like to quickly mention that the above statistics were used without including several nations, either because including them would make my graphs less pretty, or, too crowded. Asteria and Andes are missing countries which would add 4% to their figures. Pacifica is missing countries which would add 0.3% to its figures. With that, and taking account of all nations on eRepublik and their probably allegiance should a full out war occur on eRepublik, the alliances share of the damage based on my snapshot would be as follows;

I hear Aaron's articles are better than mine, hmm?
