[MoE] Intro: Ministry of Education
Ian E CoIeman
December 6, 2012
Hello eIreland,
This month, December 2012, our newly elected president, The Psych0, has seen fit to introduce a Ministry of Education.
This ministry will be tasked with keeping you informed, and with bringing you tutorials and articles that will broaden your horizons and help you play smart. Hopefully this will both benefit you, the individual citizens, and the grander community of eIreland.
Staff
For the pilot month of this ministry we have two citizens on the job:
Myself: Ian E Coleman
Vice Minister: Abel Mcfinn
Feel free to pm either of us with questions, concerns, and ideas OR if you'd like to join our team.
Goals
This month:
- I would like to see us publish at least one helpful guide or article per week.
- We'd like to start a project to organize all of our best tutorials and our best mentors into an easy to access directory article.
- We'll be fixing up eIreland's wiki pages for the sake of record keeping and because the wiki is a great resource for any curious citizen.
Stay tuned for more articles from your brand new Ministry of Education. I already have an article about training contracts in the works - based on a tip off our president gave me about a good article in Israel.
Cheers!

Voted, looking ahead for updates \o
I couldn't wish for better Minister!
I would like to suggest that the MoE contact the portuguese MDS, they have a lot of programs regarding to help newbies. Starting with erepnoobs (#erepnoobs), this is a website with tools, tutorials and videos for the new players (http://www.erepnoobs.com/#!Inicio/c5ky), for now it's only available in portuguese, but the spanish and english version are under construction.
Another program is "personality of the month" that rewards some players by their distinguish of the rest of the community in some categories like politician, economist, military, newbie, journalist and so on. Finally they have a program called MS (ministry of solidarity @#ministeriosolidariedade) that provides food and weapons for newbie until level 25, everyday. Of course isn't weapons Q7 but Q5 since Portugal doesn't have a congress.

Votado
Thanks for the comments guys.
@Duarte Goncalves we already do all of that minus the website which I hope should be up soon, I think Marcus Suridius is working on it. The ministry of community has monthly awards given out to citizens that are the best in specific categories. Also Boot Camp supplies newbs up to level 25 with Q7 weapons and food everyday.
I heard about the bootcamp, but I really didn't knew what it was, the same with the MoC, sorry about that 😛
Erepnoobs isn't only a website, is a program that instruct newbies aswell to questions that they don't find the answer and also a sponsorship program where a adult member is in charge for a number of newbies to guide them personally, obvious without military and political partiality.
This site will have all guides and info on everything in eIreland from MU's to Parties, it wont have anything yet to do with mentoring mainly because we would need this to be started within eIreland itself. We do have a tonne of very experienced players here who are always happy to help new players, if we could get a general program setup for them that has info on what they should go over with the new players then im sure we could get it going soon.
Great stuff. Love brain ina bulb idea!
"- We'd like to start a project to organize all of our best tutorials and our best mentors into an easy to access directory article"
I've already fleshed out an idea for a :"professors" directory where we'd have a list of eIreland's brightest on certain subjects - as reference for anyone with specific questions, and also just because it would be useful for choosing cabinets etc. And then every once in a while we might organize a master class with one of eIreland's experts.
I think personally that there's a lot of natural mentorship that happens, and especially at Bootcamp there's a lot of passing on knowledge player to player.
and I guess we need an org (change it's name to Ministry of education if possible) and publish all articles from that org.
^ Yes I'd love for that to happen. It will depend on if we have any orgs available, since orgs are very valuable. We can always multi task one though. 🙂
Looking forward to see your tutorials.
Very good job on the visuals.
