Hello to all you ESO members out there! There are 225 of you populating this eWorld as of writing 😃

This article is to inform you that the winner of the ESO poll to determine who the party will support ingame for the Country Presidency has been won in one round by BigAnt. He will receive backing once I click the button ingame.

Okay with that complete I want to take a minute to talk about the process.





Who Voted on This?

All members of the party are eligible to vote. Voting takes place in the ESO forum section of the eUK forums (see here: http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/index.php). If you would like to participate in future votes and other discussions, fun and games, etc. please ask me how to get onto the forums!

Who Were the Candidates?

I contacted all of the top 5 parties requesting them to submit their candidates to me so that I could place them in the poll for consideration. UKRP and PCP chose not to run their own candidates. UKPP supplied candidacy information immediately, and TUP supplied candidacy information very late in the process of our internal poll. BMThatcher, Count Drakula, BigAnt, and Moriarty were included in the poll.

So Do I Have to Vote for the Party Poll Winner???

NO!

You should vote for the candidate that you think is the best choice, regardless of party or who ESO is officially backing. The vote that was held on the forum is not representative of the entire party, and the choice was made without the benefit of seeing how the candidates campaign in the next few days. The process is not perfect, but it is the best way we have identified. I have tried my best to make sure that the options that were available were clearly outlined and communicated. I pledged to stay neutral in the process, and no candidate received either favourable treatment or interference from me.

It is my hope that you will each consider the choices carefully and make an informed decision before voting (and yes - I hope you vote!). I recognize that there is no scenario where everyone in the party will agree to backing any particular candidate. This is why ESO operates the way it does; nobody should ever feel like they are expected to vote for someone just because they are in the party.

The next month is shaping up to be a critical one for the stability of the eUK, and there will be a lot of major decisions to be made by the government. Keep an eye on the media to see what the candidates promise. Best of luck to BigAnt/Blue & Evil, and all of the other candidates that are running! May the best candidate win!
