I think that it was Ross Perot who said once: "Wars have rules, mud wrestling has rules; politics has no rules." which is a perfect introduction into these days around the fifth of every month. A year ago I published another article (which was mostly in English) with the same title, inspired by our ever evolving eRepublik politics, you can check it out here.
Anyway, eSerbia, like the rest of this e-world, will elect its new president on 5th November. Most of the presidential candidates have published their articles explaining their manifestos, programmes and teams they would bring in to their new administration.
Three political coalitions and their prospective candidates have a chance of securing victory, so I emailed presidential candidates asking them the same questions: their view of eSerbia’s foreign policy and how they see eUK. I am presenting their answers to you in the order their replies reached my inbox.
Mikovic Dragan comes from a small party but his candidature was supported by almost all parties that participate in the current eSerbian Government. That is why it can be said that this coalition is pro-government one and his proposed cabinet is almost identical to the one in power now. Most prominent members of this coalition are United eSerbia, Together and Serbian Patriotic League.
This is what he replied:
“In case that I win, I would position our foreign policy to strengthen our relationships with the current allies: eHungary, eSlovenia, eMacedonia, ePoland, eSpain, eUK... I would try get at least two more decisive “members” but, this is something for the future.
I strongly believe we would need a regulated alliance - to be quite clear about the support, duties, obligations, how this alliance would work so that all of us are on the same page. I would not stand silent if an alliance member did not follow jointly agreed rules. It is about time that we know definitely who is with us and who is not.”
“eUK is one of the countries that has a special place with me and I am sorry that is currently unable to take more resources. However, having in mind their previous position when they were totally occupied, their situation is far better now. Nevertheless, the eUK deserves more and I hope we will resolve that in a positive manner shortly
Furija.BRE leads one of the opposition coalitions, led by the Action Movement. Apart this party, all others are fairly small. However, his campaign is very active and based around the proposed unity of all political streams, an idea that can attract a number of undecided voters.
This is what he replied:
“There is something about foreign policy in my latest article, the rest I can tell you after the elections as it is a secret.”
I went through his two latest articles and found the following views: he noted down that the main aim of his foreign policy is to secure allied support and have an active diplomacy so eSerbia gets and keeps 10/10 resources.
Vladislav Milanovic 83 leads another big opposition coalition and apart from his Democratic Party of Srpska, the most prominent members of this coalition is the Common Sense Party, the biggest party in eSerbia. Having in mind that other ten other parties support his candidacy, this makes him a serious contender for the presidential role.
Although Vladislav confirmed that he would get back to me with his replies he did not do it as he must be very busy organising his team and getting ready for the elections. I checked his presidential bid articles but could not find specific views on foreign policy so most likely he will publish more later today.
Although these three main candidates did not answer completely to the questions I asked, I would not expect that eSerbia’s foreign policy goes through a major change, no matter who wins. Sometimes, a lack of answer is an answer for itself so I am hopeful that my fellow e-countrymen will vote wisely tomorrow, but, one can never know...
So, “Remember, remember the fifth of November” (hopefully without gunpowder treason and plot!) and use your right to vote wherever you are and participate in shaping your country’s future.
