[eRep] Player "retention" in last 100 days

Day 4,298, 00:55 Published in Netherlands Iran by Janty F

Greeting, citizens of eRepublik,

each week on Tuesday, I write down the number of "active" citizens (whatever that number actually represents in terms of activity, is up to you to decide) in order to follow trend regarding player retention rate and players leaving (or joining) this game.

For now, I can present data for the last 100 or so days (more specifically from Day 4,193 to Day 4,298 = today). I believe there will be no surprise to find out that the player number is slowly decreasing over the time - but how much? Let's see:

In the past 100 or so days, the game has lost around 3 000 of its "active" citizens, meaning 6% of the total population. There were only brief periods of player numbers actually increasing, mostly during the times of huge war between Code and Asteria (and in both cases, the increase was marginal), and especially during August (when people are going for holidays), the numbers have not looked pretty.

We are, on one hand, heading away from the holiday period, expecting some events and people to come back in upcoming months (birthday, Black Friday, Halloween). We can also expect more fighting to gather attraction of players, now that Romania and Serbia are breaking free and more countries hoping to follow them. But will it be enough to slow the decline?

In 100 days, we will see, I guess.

If anyone has data for number of active players before the Day 4,193, please do let me know!
