[DoD] Training War Blocked

Day 1,862, 12:55 Published in Ireland Ireland by Irish Department of Defence

Hello eIreland,

Recently the United Kingdom Prime Minister BigAnt decided to attack Newfoundland, Canada at the same time we were waiting to launch our own NE against Canada for our training war - the UK's intervention has cancelled our Natural Enemy against Canada, therefore at this moment, the training war has been postponed.

There is currently a Natural Enemy proposal against the United Kingdom in the Dáil Éireann - All members of the Dáil please hold votes. The governments shares every eIrish player's frustration at the situation - but we are awaiting responses from the UK government about this disregard of our activities, and will act accordingly to find a solution. All options are being considered.

On December 17th, the United Kingdom began a 5 day journey through Canada, Newfoundland in order to border Portugal, Azores. By the 22nd, they had succeeded in capturing the Azores but later lost the region through a Resistance war. On the 24th, the United Kingdom attacked Newfoundland in order to reopen their bridge to the Azores - they were successful, but later lost Newfoundland and Azores through a Resistance war.

At which point, eIreland had launched a Natural Enemy proposal against Canada in order to start our scheduled Training War. The UK's CP then proceeded to attack Newfoundland before we could launch our Natural Enemy attack. Due to the United Kingdom's recent victory in Newfoundland, the Irish-Canadian border was closed and our Natural Enemy cancelled - Below is a visual representation of the situation:

Not to scale, obviously.

The Department of Defence had been directing Mobile soldiers to Newfoundland in order to prevent this situation, and the Irish Army's Fianna Éireann did manage to turn the wall in Division 4:

However, given the holiday period and time zones - Majority of allied support was unavailable to win the battle. Resulting in the closure of our scheduled Training War with Canada.

This is a deeply frustrating situation, and certainly created a great deal of hassle for the Irish Government during the Christmas holidays, but Irish citizens will be informed on any progress, and I call for patience - Last reminder: Dail members hold votes.

Signed
