[Derp4PotUS] Willingness

Day 3,355, 17:06 Published in USA USA by Derphoof

Earlier this month, I wrote an article about the resilience of the American people. We’ve been through various hardships, and come out the other side fairly well. However, this does not mean everything is perfectly fine with the United States and it’s leadership. The wipe of 2013 impacted us in profound ways, and in one way, for the worse.

We’ve become too risk averse, as a nation.

We’ve been sitting back and keeping ourselves out of large engagements. We’ve become reactive, rather than pro-active, on the battlefield. Recently, we took on the UK, along with our Pacifican allies in Finland. Another easy wipe, for our easy lives… For a time, at least. Yet, there are certainly other enemies that we could face as a nation, or even an alliance. Our problem is that, we simply don’t want to rock the boat or often challenge ourselves.

Medals are all we have to fight for.

We seem to be haunted by the ghosts of 2013, as some people just believe that nothing proactive should be done.

According to some, we shouldn’t go to war. That could be provocative and rock the boat. We shouldn’t build a narrative. That could be provocative, and set our people against another, rocking the boat. We shouldn’t press our allies and seek out more, that could change the dynamic.

We should just sit back, and alternate between attacking Indonesia and the UK until something changes.

Some of this has to do with our alliance.

Consider our campaign against the eUK. Orion, an alliance ⅓ the strength of Pacifica, was able to coordinate to push out Finland and create problems for our occupation as well.

What was our alliance’s response? To do absolutely nothing, it seems.

When our alliance is three times as strong, this is not the effort I expect. It seems as though we are unwilling to truly do anything together. At this point, it seems that “cooperation” means informing each other of intentions to invade random small countries for minimal impact.

We can and must do better as an alliance.

So, what do we do?

There is nothing that pulls us together more as a nation, than giving everything we have in order to take on a difficult task. There is nothing more satisfying than accomplishing that task, or winning a hard conflict. And, even upon losing, we find ourselves more together for having given it all on the battlefield.

I write this today, as someone who understands the challenges that our nation faces. There seems to be a fear a that we can no longer do great things. Some have resigned themselves to this idea. They feel no confidence in their countrymen to do do great things. They’d rather bicker and moan at each other in the halls of Congress, and argue about taxes, than come together and take a chance.

I want to challenge our country on the battlefield. I want to give MU’s the ability to further develop their soldiers, and improve our output on the battlefield. I want to take more risks, and build some more cohesion in the alliance by doing so. I want to challenge our nation to take more leadership in our alliance, and to forge tighter bonds with all of our allies. I want to challenge our country to expand its horizons and look at developing more international relationships.

It’s time to build our friendships on the battlefield, domestically and abroad.

We have the people. We have the money. But do we have the will? The courage?

It’s time to come together, and make a change.

With that, I announce my Candidacy for PotUS on February 5th, and I hope to earn your vote.
