[CP] Thank you

Day 1,964, 03:12 Published in Canada Canada by Homer J Simpson

Well election day is over and Canada has placed an overwhelming amount of faith in me to lead for another month. There are just a couple of things I'd like to get out there.

The tl;dr - Thank you for your support.

I'd like to thank all the parties who gave me their support for a second term, not least of all my home party, the MDP. This may be just a game but it is still a humbling experience to have so much trust placed in you by so many.

Thank you also to the many individuals who have openly offered there support and encouragement. When I first decided to run for CP last term, I wasn't sure what support I'd receive, in fact when I first decided to put my name out there it was more to test the waters. Only after seeing so many people looking to me for a serious campaign did I realise it was the right time.

As the term went on, people started asking me if I would be trying for a second. Originally I had only looked at this as a one off, give it a go before I end up leaving the game, kind of thing. Then I looked at the success we'd had, I thought about how much enjoyment I'd got out of this term and, most of all, I looked at what was left to do. I've never been the kind to start a job and then leave it half finished and so, here we are.

This term I will be doing everything within my power to get our regions back on a permanent basis. Gaining congress last month was a major achievement and one that I am extremely proud of but it is not something that I can simply hang my hat on and put my feet up. Living on past glories is fine for some but it doesn't sit well with me.

Last but certainly not least, I'd like to thank my cabinet. Without them I would have been just another mediocre CP going through the motions while achieving nothing. Before I was elected CP I had never been involved in executive government and, as such, I can't judge any past cabinets but I am sure that none have been better than the group I have. One person cannot run a country alone so a CP is only as good as the team that surrounds them.

I have seen my cabinet team put in countless hours making sure our plans work the way they should and giving Canada the best chance at success. My main cabinet pm sits at 424 messages, the separate ministry pms show a high workrate as well, not to mention the many individual messages that have been sent.

Then there are the MU Coordination pms 228 and 186 messages. These are a key to our effectiveness as a fighting force ensuring that we are all on the same page.

I can't and won't guarantee success this month but I can tell, you with my hand on my heart, that if we don't succeed it won't be through a lack of effort and application.

As always Canada, stay strong, stay united!

For great justice!
