[CP] Foreign Affairs Poll

Day 1,780, 16:46 Published in Canada Canada by Jacobi

Canada, oh Canada. As your President in the next term I will certainly have a lot on my plate, and foreign affairs will certainly be my top priority and, with the practical demise of Terra and the confirmation of CTRL, Canada is at a crossroads. It would behoove any government to consult the citizens of a nation before making any major changes but I must say this: in the next month we must prepare for major change. We must allow for the reality that the comfortable alliances Canada has existed in for years have drifted away from us, and we must now move forward or be left behind. Wishy-washy independence where we try not to piss anyone off ought not to be an option (though for a strange reason I’m going to make it one anyway). Actually, wait a second, give me a few moments ElPatoDiablo just needs to talk to me for a second.

I’m not running for President?! I’m not even on the ballot?!

Well, then. Let’s try this again.

Canada, oh Canada. As your probably something in cabinet but who can really predict the future in the next term I will certainly have a lot on my plate, and foreign affairs will certainly (might) be my top priority and, with the practical demise of Terra and the confirmation of CTRL, Canada is at a crossroads.

I guess the point is that you can want something, and you can even pretend that you have it, and you can live in the past all you want, but eventually reality is going to come crashing down and you’re going to have to deal with it or suffer. I’ve got a good picture from August of what’s possible and not, of what our relations are and what they’re not, and how we damaged those relations in September with some boneheaded MPPs. So Canada’s hitting the point where it has to deal with reality and your voice will be good for the next government to hear.

So, like the last two times, I’m offering a 5 gold prize to a random Canadian who participates in the following poll. In it you’ll see different possible alliance configurations, here and in the instructions it will be imagining Canada being completely committed to these alliances – the United States and EDEN are not compatible choices

You can participate in the poll HERE

By participating you will become a part of a process, in which the people provide a direction for the Executive, the Executive in consultation with the present Congress maps out this direction, with the next elected Congress confirming it. My hope is that we will be able to say to our friends and to our foes exactly who we stand with and cogently be able to say why.

Have your voice, maybe win some money, and help chart the future of Canada.
