[Artela] In democracy it's your vote that counts

Day 1,194, 15:58 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Artela

The first order of the day with today’s article is to say thank you to those who took the time to vote for me in the Congress elections even though I was fighting a seat far from London down in the glorious South West of England.

Now on to the main purpose of today’s article - to announce my intention to stand for Prime Minister in the upcoming Country President elections on the 5th March.

Sometimes what is needed is a fresh face at the top backed by a strong and experienced team, and this is what I can promise for you. Our country currently stands at the beginning of a new era with the blossoming relationship with our brand new alliance partner PANAM, while we also still retain ties with friends of old such as Serbia (with whom we have recently entered into a land rental agreement). In times such as these we need to explore all the available opportunities presented to the country to cement those relationships while also having fun and trying to expand the range of resources available to us, thus improving the lot of our poor beleaguered business community. We need, at this time, someone with strong military leadership credentials, and no-one else at this time offers more experience from the highest levels of the military.

I am a big believer in democracy, and so I will encouraging more active participation from citizens in decision making using the new referendum tool. It is important that some of the big decisions are made not just by a select few but by everyone it affects - new citizens have as much opinion to offer as those with multiple political terms under their belts, and often newer citizens have a unique perspective not understood or considered by those who have been around a long time. I also passionately believe in trying to help each citizen help themselves through education and by using the in-game mechanisms wherever that is possible to achieve this.

Despite being eYoung I rose quickly in eRepublik and I have dabbled in many areas: Politics - Business - Military. As well as the vast military experience, other recent experience has included being involved in Foreign Affairs discussions and helping the incumbent PM with anti-ATO measures in the most recent Congress election.

Now follows the customary summary list of my official positions held so far

1 x Permanent Secretary
3 x Minister of Defence
1 x Chief of the General Staff
4 x Congress member
co-founder and VPP of ESO
founder and 3 x PP of TRD
Manager of Celtic Connections
Extensive Military Command Positions from V1 to present

As you can see I have a lot of military experience, including at government level, as well as extensive business and party experience. I think this makes me a well-rounded candidate worthy of your consideration.

I will release more details on my policies during the coming week, when I will issue across three articles polices on Home Affairs, Foreign and Military Affairs, and The Rest; however, even before they are issued I welcome feedback from you, the voters, on any current affairs issues that you have opinions on, including your views on items such as alliances and the region rental. I look forward to hearing from you.

All the best

MBE CGC DSO KCVS

Despite this being a manifesto article, I will still include the usual bunch of links for you, hopefully with information you'll find useful
