[Artela] In democracy it's your vote that counts
Artela
The first order of the day with today’s article is to say thank you to those who took the time to vote for me in the Congress elections even though I was fighting a seat far from London down in the glorious South West of England.
Now on to the main purpose of today’s article - to announce my intention to stand for Prime Minister in the upcoming Country President elections on the 5th March.
Sometimes what is needed is a fresh face at the top backed by a strong and experienced team, and this is what I can promise for you. Our country currently stands at the beginning of a new era with the blossoming relationship with our brand new alliance partner PANAM, while we also still retain ties with friends of old such as Serbia (with whom we have recently entered into a land rental agreement). In times such as these we need to explore all the available opportunities presented to the country to cement those relationships while also having fun and trying to expand the range of resources available to us, thus improving the lot of our poor beleaguered business community. We need, at this time, someone with strong military leadership credentials, and no-one else at this time offers more experience from the highest levels of the military.
I am a big believer in democracy, and so I will encouraging more active participation from citizens in decision making using the new referendum tool. It is important that some of the big decisions are made not just by a select few but by everyone it affects - new citizens have as much opinion to offer as those with multiple political terms under their belts, and often newer citizens have a unique perspective not understood or considered by those who have been around a long time. I also passionately believe in trying to help each citizen help themselves through education and by using the in-game mechanisms wherever that is possible to achieve this.
Despite being eYoung I rose quickly in eRepublik and I have dabbled in many areas: Politics - Business - Military. As well as the vast military experience, other recent experience has included being involved in Foreign Affairs discussions and helping the incumbent PM with anti-ATO measures in the most recent Congress election.
Now follows the customary summary list of my official positions held so far
1 x Permanent Secretary
3 x Minister of Defence
1 x Chief of the General Staff
4 x Congress member
co-founder and VPP of ESO
founder and 3 x PP of TRD
Manager of Celtic Connections
Extensive Military Command Positions from V1 to present
As you can see I have a lot of military experience, including at government level, as well as extensive business and party experience. I think this makes me a well-rounded candidate worthy of your consideration.
I will release more details on my policies during the coming week, when I will issue across three articles polices on Home Affairs, Foreign and Military Affairs, and The Rest; however, even before they are issued I welcome feedback from you, the voters, on any current affairs issues that you have opinions on, including your views on items such as alliances and the region rental. I look forward to hearing from you.
All the best
MBE CGC DSO KCVS
Despite this being a manifesto article, I will still include the usual bunch of links for you, hopefully with information you'll find useful

"I'm most definitely voting Artela"
Good luck \o/
Fully supported (although I'm upset Jhorlin stole my "first")
What, nobodies going to say it?
I'm really going to have to be the one that says it?
Ok, fine.
Artela... You're a woman. You can't be Prime Minister.
I sense a jamesw behind the text here 😛
Iain: you sense wrong
Well now this is interesting.
If you lose run again - it will be nothing against you, but lots of people just vote for the person they've heard of most
I want a leader who knows how to kick a neighbour right in the balls. Vote Artela for maximum pain.
Good Luck \o/
Good luck \o/
To be fair I must agree with Maddog.
You are a woman.. Therefore you cannot be Prime Minister.. That's just.. Life.
Woldy > Artela
I'll vote for you, if you bake me a batch of cookies!
But seriously, you have my vote.

eIndonesia vs eUSA
VCS appreciated 😃
This should be good!
Good Luck 🙂
omg omg omg omg.
CP Election = mind blown.
\o/\o/\o/
If Iain senses a jamesw there is a jamesw.
Do we really need another military person now we just closed that chapter? I'd rather see somebody focus on recruitment and domestics, considering the current situation is quite mediocre.
I'm most definitely voting Artela
Go Go Artela \o/
Saradroz = female PM?
And look how that worked out.
But srsly good luck Artela \o/
Artela has my vote.
"Artela... You're a woman. You can't be Prime Minister. "
SEXISM IS NEVER THE WAY TO GO!
I AM LOGAMAC. I ACCEPT THIS. o7
gl ^_~
I agree with Frerk, need to concentrate on home issues
I would be voting Artela if Woldy wasn't running ;_;
In democracy, it's your vote that counts. Except when it comes to joining PANAM ofc.
Oh you.
Good luck artela 🙂
ChewChewShoe sai😛
"You are a woman.. Therefore you cannot be Prime Minister.. That's just.. Life."
That blatant blast of sexist rubbish would almost be enough to earn Artela my vote alone - but in her I see a smart, hardworking and selfless team player with superb organisational skills - and best of all a modesty that is lacking in the other CP candidates this term.
Artela is by far the best CP runner standing this term - and as such she has my vote.
CC
Artela would be the best candidate in almost any election tbh.
Sadly she is running against Woldy 🙁
good luck, Artela vs Woldy
interesting...
"If Iain senses a jamesw there is a jamesw."
Unfortunately, I am much too busy running the country to worry about articles like this. It could be that you are sensing a strong article, with lots of DELICIOUS BOLD, as opposed to sensing a jamesw.
BUT THEN I AM AN UNDEMOCRATIC MADMAN AND THUS KNOW NOTHING
I liked the picture with tits.
got my vote
I agree with what Indiekid said, women are always useless.
Good fight here.
please consider this.

@John Forseti's nonsense:
General public: http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=63574
Congress vote: Agree to Panam? Supermajority says yes.
You have a strange idea of democracy.
@ Thatcher's nonsense. Yes, an anonymous forum poll where anyone with a forum account, including eMericans, can participate is a perfectly accurate barometer of the general public, especially when the votes at election were nearly 600 and the poll barely passed 80. Also congress voting on an alliance membership without informing the public it was doing so, having no formal public debate over the matter, and then keeping the vote thread a secret so no one on election day could check who they would/wouldn't want to vote for, that all sounds like the actions of a healthy democracy.
I can't believe how hypocritical you are to be proud of how this was "handled" yet have the nerve to criticise the joining-PEACE era. It staggers the mind.
I lived through SaraDroz.
I'd rather vote Woldy.
James you say that you're too busy running the country; isn't that Jhorlin's job?
And if it's not; why are you wasting your time confirming my point while you could try to become the saviour of democracy?
Also, I'd agree with Forseti on his last point. You can't disagree with the way we discussed PEACE (which actually had open discussion threads on the forums) against the way this one went.
This whole process of alliance selection was a shambles. There was no public consultation. Weeks of lacklustre squabbling followed by a randomly announced vote simply to fit round congress elections. We have rushed headlong into something which isn't supported by 2/3 of the public purely to satisfy the bizarre urge to "belong", regardless of whether belonging was a good idea.
What makes it worse is that people were cajoled and pressured into voting the "right" way and are now mostly too ashamed to have the record of their votes made public.
But Artela is still a vote well spent so... meh. We should discuss alliances but I do trust our leaders, I would love for the public to be involved in decisions but I trust our leaders to make good decisions when they need to made. But anyway vote Artela.
