[AMP] Malarkey83 for PP

Day 2,302, 07:02 Published in USA USA by Malarkey83

Hello AMPlifiers!

In case you haven't been to the forums in a few days, I'm seeking to be elected for my 3rd term as AMP Party President. I'm running against an awesome friend, and 2-time AMP PP Napalm Norm. He's done some awesome work and I expect a close race to ensue. In this article today, I'll be covering my experience, goals and cabinet for the month ahead.

So what is my experience?

AMP Party:

Party President (2x)
Education Director (3x)
Former Retention Director
Former Security Deputy

Government:

Current IES Deputy Director
Retired IES Director (7 months)
3x Congressman from the AMPs
3x Congressman from the Feds
Former Secretary of Media
Former OMS Director (3 months)
Former DoI Staff Writer (6 months)
Former DHS Deputy Director

Fed Party:

Former Fed PP
Former FBI Director (8 months)
Former Media Director (4 months)
Former Political Deputy Director

When I was elected to my 2 terms as Party President, I ran on the premise that in order to make a party strong, you need to focus on 3 key areas: Recruitment, Retention and Education.

Luckily I've managed to convince Syz2 to stay on as Recruitment Director. The man works hard and is probably the backbone of the party (IMHO). Without his thankless work of recruiting new, talented players to the AMP who knows where we'd be. In addition, we have Mr.Swagg assisting him to form a lethal 1-2 punch and a recent return to the game David Gulya. The Recruiting goals for this month aren't about numbers, but helping the party find the next wave of Leadership talent.

Retention has always been a department I loved and is why I cannot be any happier than having SavageWatson on board. In his brief time in the Director chair he's done nothing except impress me. He's creative and looks for new ways to encourage activity and fun yet keeping it simple enough where you don't need to jump through 1000 hoops. I look forward to working on some ideas with him and bringing back some ideas from the past.

Lastly, and certainly not least, Education. Education was a major goal for my terms and with the lack of an Education Director, coupled with my responsibilities helping the party as PP and protecting the eUSA as IES Director, I wasn't able to put together the fully encompassing education program I wanted. Fortunately, things have changed and Norm and I spent the past 2 months working hard to formulate American Military University (AMU).

My RL work experience as a Training & Quality Assurance Manager was the major factor for me in working to create this. A training manager in order to be effective has to motivate, educate and train people to understand what's in front of them. When you're new, eRepublik can be a bit daunting to understand so the idea is to give you a leg up by featuring topics covering the military and politics and also providing excellent interviews with members of the community to help answer the questions you have.

During my terms, we had some wins as a party. I'll briefly mention below some of my personal favorites:

- I improved some of the forum organization to develop a more social aspect where players can come in and share their media and ideas.

- The AMP wiki was updated to fully display our party's history.

- I started an AMP Member Survey where players can voice their opinions on how Leadership is doing and will be bringing that back.

Most importantly though, who’s in my cabinet?

CoS: David Wilson

Department Directors:
-PAC: Evry
-Communication: Greeling
-Recruitment: Syz2 & Mr. Swagg
-Retention: SavageWatson
-Media: Malarkey83
-Education: Napalm Norm

For any players who are interested in getting involved in any way, shape or form, feel free to PM me at any time either in game or on the forums. I would love to have each and everyone of you from our oldfags all the way down to the newest members of this party. Deputy Director and staff positions are open, or you can apply to be an Intern.
