AMP Congressionals
All AMP members are encouraged to apply for Congress this month. Congress is a great place to start your political career. If you’re unsure of yourself we have plenty of people willing and able to mentor you and make sure you understand what is needed of you as an eUS congressperson.

If interested post a platform in this thread telling AMP members why they should vote for you, and then please take the AMP Congress Preparedness Quiz. This quiz ensures that all AMP congress members understand the daily workings of congress and what their responsibilities are, failing the quiz does not necessarily mean that you won’t be able to run for congress, it just lets leadership know who may need a mentor to help show them the ropes.



After you have posted your platform be sure to declare in-game on the AMP Party Page
so you can be elected in game.
Please all those interested in joining congress go to the eUSA forums and register so you can be ready on day one, instead of waiting for your account to be approved.

Malarkey Speaks

Earlier today I had the chance to sit down with PP Malarkey83 for an impromptu interview about the current term.

How do you feel this month is going so far?
(This was before I realized today was the 20th and his term just started)

I think we're off to a good start. The Battle Buddies program is up and being promoted. We have a few other programs in the works that are nearing completion. The AMP wiki is almost completely updated now. And in the next few days I'll be releasing some new Education information.

What are you most excited about heading forward?

Now that's a great question. I'm looking forward to seeing an active, engaged AMP party. We have some very passionate, interesting players who in the coming months will be moving up the chain into Leadership roles of their own and leading this party towards the future. However, without creating an environment where they are free to learn and grow we'll never have that.

Do you have any plans to increase the number of congressman AMP gets this month?

The plans the same as always...reaching out to our membership to encourage them to vote. If I'm not mistaken, the same time last year though, there was 12% drop in voters Nov to Dec Congress elections. I'm sure part of that is due to election day being on Christmas day and most players being busy with family and RL.
But, we'll reach out as best we can and see if they can just hop on for just a minute and vote.

What do you think of our prospective congressmen and women so far?

I've been closely viewing the prospective Congressmen and Congresswomen and I'm quite happy with our group thus far. We have a good mix in terms of experienced and new players. But mainly I'm just proud that there are so many AMPs interested in representing our party in Congress.

Who's someone who hasn't signed up yet, who you'd like to see apply for congress?

You want me to single someone out? Yeesh...well frankly I want AMPs to run because they want to run. I understand that sometimes a player doesn't run because of RL obligations or maybe it's a bad time of the year or they just want to give someone else a chance. I'd rather have AMPs in Congress who will represent us proudly and are active than someone who didn't want to be there until I called them out for not signing up yet.
With all that said, I offer the party this challenge. If you're interested in running for Congress, but are afraid we wouldn't support you or you think we'll laugh at you, write up a platform anyway. All interested AMPs should run if they want to.
