[AMP] A response to yesterday (Not Congress-Results Related)

Day 1,710, 05:44 Published in USA USA by John Killah

I’m going to not include mood music, because it’d be screamo or something that shows that I’m not in the best of moods

Controversy abound

Lets cut straight to the chase eh?

In case you haven’t heard, Oblige wrote an article calling me a liar. He explained that he had been told by me that he would be running, then was cut at the last second.

I could call him a liar back, be all political, but I have no problem admitting that it’s true - I did tell him he was running, and yes, I did cut him at the last second. Now, hold your rage in a little longer, I’ll explain why I did what I did.

I told him he was running - Yes, he was going to run for California. But anyone who knows me, knows that my decisions are never straight cut down the middle line. Anyone who says that they are 100% behind whatever they say/do, i’m afraid, is a liar. When I said that i'd run him, I had a nagging conscience.

Why? Simple. Before any more accusations turn up that this is just me having personal issues with Oblige because I hate him, please turn around, and walk into that wall over there, it may knock some sense into you. Ask any friend of mine, ask my bro ... ask a National Guardsman, I don’t hate anyone in this game (Except maybe Pizza, but that’s entirely justified don't you think?). Do I dislike? God yes, quite a few. But still, that wasn't the reason either. I didn’t run Oblige, because I don’t think that he is what’s best for this nation, simple as that. We’re talking of a man who was nearly impeached, withheld national orgs from the next administration, led a politically motivated impeachment of the current PotUS (Oblige has access to Glove’s account, who would of become CP had the impeachment passed, meaning Oblige has de facto access to CP Controls), and also asked members of the Executive Cabinet to LEAK PDB information, which each and every one of us knows would get us fired (and i'm sure you'd agree that you shouldn't leak information that isn't meant for non-cabinet members, you wouldn't see it IRL, why here?), and he knew that as well. And let's not forget congress leaks that have happened (I will admit, this can't be proven). In my eyes, I didn't want a man like that in congress.

“So why did you choose to wait till the last second?” - Completely unintentional. In the end, my conscience got the better of me. So if you wanna shoot a man for doing what he think is right, you’re gonna have to massacre a lot of people day in and day out. Hell, shoot yourself for doing what you think is right.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I do regret parts of what happened that night. Do I regret not placing Oblige? In all honesty, at the moment, no. In the future, I might. What I DO regret, is that I didn’t let anyone know. Now, I want you to picture this scene before I continue -

It’s half an hour past midnight, and you’ve got to be up and out for work in 4 hours for work and you desperately want to get to sleep. Problem is, you’ve got to assign candidates yet. You know the list your PAC director gave the FEC, the list you’re working off, is slightly out of date, so you ask them to update it. With me so far?

Thats when another problem emerges. Your PAC director goes AFK, and you realise that the sheet may NOT have been updated. I later found out (the next day, congress day) that he’d updated the AMP PAC sheet, not the sheet he handed to the FEC ... the sheet I was working off since we were supposed to be working with them to ensure an ATO.

THIS, is what led to some people not getting placed when they should of. People like Jon Barack Bluejacket. To those people, although it may not seem like much, I can and most certainly will say hand on heart with full honesty, that if I’d known that, you would of been placed, you would of been run. I will accept some of the responsibility for that and apologise without reserve, I failed you on that matter.

So, without the knowledge of the updated AMP PAC sheet, I went to work making a new sheet to reflect the change in Cali (Problem with the list sheet given to FEC was that I could only access it as read only, so I couldn’t update it). By the time I had copied and fixed the sheet, assigned candidates, and messaged the FEC with the change, it was marching on towards 1:30am … 3 hours till I had to be up again.

At that point, all I wanted to do, is sleep (My hours were the same that day, so I had basically been up for 21 hours at this point), so what did I do? I obeyed my body clock. I switched off eRepublik, and went to sleep so that i'd be able to work tomorrow for a living. Did the thought of contacting other people who should've known about the change cross my mind? No, because in my sleep-deprived state, I figured I would deal with it the next day.

And of course, you already know how that all turned out …

That is the reasoning behind my logic.

So where do we go from here?

To those who still disagree with what I did - Feel free to do so. If I haven’t changed your feelings on the matter with the plain facts from my perspective, then who am I to try to pressure you into changing them? I have given you my side of the story with no excuses and no information withheld (that I can think of. Again, I’m still running low on sleep, so I’m still tired, early mornings are NOT my forte). All I ask of you is to understand that I made a choice, and that one day, if the consequences turn out to be negative, I will deal with them then. I won’t run from the choice i’ve made.

I also ask you not to lump the rest of the AMP in with my actions. I guess as PP, you can say my actions are theirs, but ask yourself this, if they were unaware, how could they have had any hand in this? How do you know they’d be complicit and follow me off a cliff? Simple answer is, you don't, you can't make an unfair judgement like that. The AMP ISN’T the USWP as some of you make it out to be, because unlike the USWP, our leadership has arguments (plenty of them) … we have disagreements (even more of them) … because we all have different opinions and views on subjects that we dicuss. Do you see that in the USWP? No. So please, stop trying to paint the AMP as the Mini-USWP. If you could see for even just a day in our leadership, you’d realise you’re not right.

To everyone else - I realise trust in my is majorly shattered by all this. I understand completely, i’d be the same in your shoes. I apologise very humbly that I did not handle this as well as it could've been handled.

And that … is all that was written ...
