[ALFA4CP] The fight is on and I'm stripped to the buff.
Grampa Alfagrem
Hello citizens of the eUK!
Having secured the internal nomination of the One Vision party for the CP position I am off and running!
WHO AM I?
I started playing this game back in 2009 working initially as a farm worker in the fields of England I emigrated to Canada after a few weeks where I became a lumberjack as "I wished I was a girly just like my dear mama".
Whilst in eCanada minding my own business and 2 clicking along I noticed a call for assistance from the then CP of eSouth Korea and my intrest piqued I soon flew off to Gyeongsangnam-do.
eSouth Korea was a tiny, tiny nation - Think of PCP and how tiny yet incredibly tight they are as a group, That was eSK.
Amongst such a small group I quickly broke through to prominence and was responsible for saving the economy, inaugurating an effective military, ejecting the Empire of Japan from our lands and finnaly overseeing the introduction of a native Korean population to the game.
In what was to become typical Alfa fashion I handed over my gold, currency and orgs to this new influx of players and moved out of their way.
I then floated around the planet looking for a new role in elife returning briefly to eSK when eJapan once more threatened their exsistence and spearheaded a drive that took eSK to the gates of Tokyo before Japan capitualted once more.
Eventually I returned to my own native country and soon became involved in the numerous and repetitive series of battles we used to have. As a 'Tank' able to swing battles, crush nations and rally players I soon rose to a position of prominence.
Eventually I grew tired of the secret deals, the nepotism, the failure to look longterm and the slow pace of adapting to change and helped start a new party for those that shared my views.
The party was PTO'd and I learnt a very valuable lesson in the manner it happened and soon we were back as UKPP and politics in the eUK was forever changed.

Ran a succesful financial empire in Asia.
Overturned a long-term occupation by a larger nation.
Chaired 2 peace talks in Asia.
Fought the Canuck nation to a standstill twice
Negotiated the movement of Dutch forces into the eUK during a 2 pronged invasion to try give them a congress (Aeriala the Canuck CP eventually screwed them (their allies) over)
Campaigned against eUK in Terra but still fought so hard for her as leader of '7th Armoured' that Poland MPP'd with Ireland to spite us.
Helped build UKPP into a major party.
Helped 1V become a top 5 party.
WHY AM I RUNNING?
"Loved and hated, respected or disparaged. Alfa is a polarising figure."
BigAnt was elected as something of a moderate from the whole 'new' movement in an attempt to retain some kind of consensus across the nation.
In those moments we've seen hate, Bawww and failure. On those occasions where he's hedged more towards those who elected him we've had succesful legislation, real wars and actual progress.
I'm therefore running to ensure that those gains made it those latter moments are not lost and are indeed cemented and ingrained into our national body politic.
In 1V fashion I offer Honesty, Equality and Democracy in the finest (mother of parliaments) form.
Articles to follow;
1. The role of the Executive
2. Foreign affairs and Defense
3. Internal management
4. Hot Topix
5. Your Questions answered.

o7. Alfa for CP = freedom, equality, honesty!!
>Announces candidature before even half way through term
We can all be sure this is in the national interest
Preparation is key
People wanted a more full-on campaign then they got last month apples and I am ofc a 'populist' 😛
Best of luck, Alfa
"We can all be sure this is in the national interest"
Must be good, even Appleby is convinced
Good luck Alfa o/
Just a quick revision note, "finally" has 2 l's and 1 n, paragraph 4(ish)
Good luck!
supported, I will vote for you. No idea what New Era will do, I'll try them to support you.
Good Luck!

good luck mate..
Good Luck!! Honest member!
I would have thought that Alfavisa was a plutocratic candidate rather than a democratic one.
Why are you running your poll so early? It would be interesting to know your plans in advance, so other parties can assess them. Out of interest, you don't mention a lot of your history here.
Who else was included in the OV poll? As ESO PP I have yet to receive a single request to run, so it leads me to wonder whether there was anyone else on the poll at all - parties have always (until I read this article) to my knowledge always run their primaries after congress elections take place.
It may be interesting, but I am not sure how you as President would build on any progress towards uniting the UK - older players have far too much history and ingrained beliefs to be in a position to offer any tangible progress in my opinion. We need new players to get involved - something which no party as of yet has been able to get. As I sai😛 older players have a history attached with them, and yours especially is one which is completely one sided.
One last thing - you constantly bemoan Legion being commanded by a Polish citizen, and other Legion players who emigrate to Poland for bonuses to help their MUs, but I've never once seen you extend this argument to other MUs - is this because you have finally stopped trying to mislead people about this and will change your viewpoint, or because of other motives?
\o/
Good luck Alfa, carry on the movement \o/
PS: Can you drop the pretence and replace 'helped' to 'funded' in your Political history, its incredibly misleading.
Also over a second reading I read 'In those moments we've seen hate, Bawww and failure. On those occasions where he's hedged more towards those who elected him we've had succesful legislation, real wars and actual progress.'
A president is not elected to represent just the parties which vote for him. This isn't congress where other points of view are represented - this is one position which represents the whole country. I would hope you won't be ignoring any views or people purely because they are in a party that chose to support someone else in an election. If elected, you would be a leader of the whole UK, not just a leader for those who are in the parties who supported you.
Good questions Jamesw and for most of them you'll have to wait for further articles that deal with those specific issues.
For those Questions that won’t be addressed in the campaign;
1V Poll – The PP would be better placed to answer your question however as I understood it - Initially it was Alfa Vs Josh for the internal nomination but with Josh leaving the game….. we ran our poll early in the same manner as other parties canvas for internal applicants prior to open polling and we did so prior to congress as our members (and indeed other players) have bemoaned the fact that campaign ‘season’ last month was compressed into 2-3days and the challengers had very little time to make their case.
History – I’m an old player so every event couldn’t be covered if I planned to release the article prior to the election itself! There will however me a question session towards the end of the campaign where you can ask about any ‘incidents’ you feel have been omitted.
Helped/Funded – It’d be misleading to use the former in isolation as it would imply I just forked over cash and did no polling, recruiting, mentoring, took part in no debates and was otherwise generally ignorant of any ongoing affairs.
Thanks for your replies; I'd agree that a total account of your history is of course too long to post, however you have missed out some key details. Its for you or others who want to turn it into a more bitter campaign to bring those up; I just think an account from you that details the ones we both know I'm talking about, would actually ensure that bitter fight is avoided altogether.
I do still take an issue with you wanting to 'continue' BigAnts work: there is almost universal agreement that there are huge mistakes that have been made, and the only 'work' I can see is the search for constant war: something that I think we can both agree isn't in the best interests of either the UK or our allies. Macedonia lost regions to Greece, Bulgaria faces an upwards struggle against Turkey, Romania has also been tinkering - the fact is that the game centres around the 'big wars' and not only should we help our friends, as a member of TWO we have a duty to do what is best for our allies - I would have real worries if your 'continuation' leads to a continuation of a foreign policy that is used to distract the population, or otherwise plaster over the big issues that have for a long time either been impossible to address, or have been actively ignored by those in power.
We are in a time where things are nowhere near as bad as they were; I would even go so far as to echo others points that BigAnt has managed to unify the nation somewhat; although the fact there is unity against his actions and processes whilst unfortunate for him, is something that I think you could, and should, incorporate into your thought process when running for President. There are the green shoots of possibility beginning to rise, and I would hate for any candidate running this term to in any way reduce the likelihood of those shoots blossoming.
I look forward to your articles, and I will continue to read and comment - but dont take this as an attack. (contd)
(contd)
I simply think that we should be able to debate Presidential candidates' experience, suitability and 'effectiveness' as a candidate - and to be able to do so coherently and without venom this month, will hopefully serve as an example to all parties that it needn't be a struggle between groups vying for the upper hand, but rather, individuals discussing and debating (as they always should) before an important decision. Perhaps if this Presidential election is one where everyone is able to do so (and I include those who ask the questions, not just the individuals who answer in this) without being overtly negative, purposefully vicious or with the sole intention of attempting to weaken what is perceived to be 'the other side' then it is an election that will do some good.
I do wish we didn't have 'sides', and that parties operated as they should do; by thinking about the whole of the UK, not just those they perceive to share their 'space' in the fragmented makeup we currently have. Aas, wishing it away will not make it go away.
This 'universal agreement' only includes you and a couple of other people.
>"however you have missed out some key details. Its for you or others who want to turn it into a more bitter campaign to bring those up; I just think an account from you that details the ones we both know I'm talking about"
Well if they don't come up they can be covered in the Q&A article I'll be producing as I'll be inviting all and any questions.
As for a 'bitter fight' - I'm well aware that I'm on a shooting range now that I'm running for office and am willing to engage with all criticisms of my coming program (I'll ofc be ignoring any daft theories or rumours)
@Jamesw - I organised the ballot earlier than most due to the numerous amounts of complaints from people last month when the candidates were announced much later. On the poll were two questions: 1. Would you like to support a CP candidate from another party or for One Vision to run their own? 2. Would you accept Alfagrem as our party's candidate? (Due to him being the only candidate wanting to run and also was suggested by many members). Alfa has been a crucial member of One Vision and to say that he practically funded our entire party is a bit over-exaggerated. I hope that answers your questions and if you have any more feel free to PM me.
I'd also echo Nick's point and its an opinion I've shared with other foreign leaders asking about the eUK;
"Their is a portion of the nation unhappy with BigAnt and as they are unhappy they are the more vocal in condemnation in what used to be the national forums and in in-game media.
The happy majority are ofc happy and therefore do not need to 'take to the streets' and this can be seen not only in the fact BA hasn't been removed from office yet and even got re-elected but also in the channels, avenues and alleyways where the majority now live their elives."
They'll be some changes ofc but the function of progressing the running of the nation to suit the needs, desires and wants of the majority will not cease.
If people did genuinely support him - where is this support being manifested? All I've seen is complaints, and people saying we should wait until after the war to discuss what I and others perceived as mistakes - if I'm wrong in this please do correct me - I haven't seen the content be they shouts or articles (apart from the offhand reference here). And if this is a 'vocal minority' - then a lot of our current cabinet would be included in that minority.
Quite interested in this and I'm looking forward to your future articles.
I've no doubt you'd do an excellent job in executing the game mechanics and supporting our allies at the international level.
Good Luck! 07
Long Live Alfa
>"If people did genuinely support him - where is this support being manifested..."
>"...the fact BA hasn't been removed from office yet and even got re-elected..."
Good stuff, can't think of many more qualified candidates!
This should be interesting. I still haven't really figured out what motivates you to do the things you do. Hopefully this is about more than personal ego, which is what I perceive from BA
Well you have to have some amount of ego to run for CP in the first place!
Either its a tiny shread and you end up as a commitee type leader or masses of ego and you're a dictator.
I'm aiming for something more centrist.
I read through many articles and rarely comment as to be honest epolitics rarely interests me enough. However, One thing that does 'stick out' is that jamesw and Elle Roslin persistently troll articles with negativity.
Just an observation......
^ x 2
Jamesw isn't being negative, he's being constructive. Negative is reminding people that Alfa switched sides and fought for Canada and France against the UK when we were last being wiped by them - something that Jamesw said he wouldn't bring up. I think it is an important reflection on his character, so I will.

It doesn't matter which party is backing him, they would be wrong to do so given his lack of government experience, willingness to harm the UK when it matters, and refusal to use the forums. It is likely that OV will do so though, as he provides each member with several hundred £ each day - not something you want to risk being cut off.
Further to this, when running the CP poll last month he decided to veto a candidate from a party he doesn't like because he decided they didn't have the same views as OV. In my opinion this shows a lack of respect for the opinions of the members of his party and of the OV PP, and that he is happy to maintain a divide between different "sides" in the UK. This isn't a candidate who will unite the nation, this is one who will push us further apart.
I think it is important to mention these things given that the average OV voter hasn't been around long enough to know about them, but as this is still the same person they need to hear them before making up their minds.
^See Niko - That's teh negativity you were waitng for
Spot examples, lies and third-hand rumours all in the intent thread.
The Canuck fighting is something that will be addressed later as it relates to 'hot topix' but the bizarre conspiracy theories such as "Alfa punched Mitte in the face" will be disregarded as there's no possible way I can address such fallacies when they are so far removed from any factual basis.
how long was Magic Hereos around to know him and vote him ?
By day 1617 he was involved in the UK community deeply enough that he was publishing official stuff for TUP. He was elected on day ~1751, which was over 4 months after that - with a slightly larger % of the vote than BA got this month.
you got my vote!
@Danie I'm not just talking about this article but nearly every article I read those same two people are there flaming and arguing. I have never dealt with either in game so it has nothing to do with loyalties or favouritism oon my part...as I said, it's my observation.
I am just a wee bit over 1 e-year old and to be honest I don't care what happened before I arrived and with whom. I turn up day in day out do my bit and occasionally chat with my fellow dentists. I'm too busy to get any further involved than I am but I am for the old saying, 'Let bygones be bygones'.
