Woldy at War

Day 2,022, 16:18 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Spygon

Hello euk, as mentioned before I normally stay out of the epolitics bubble as I am no politician. I have been in the military forever but as any good citizen knows you can not completely ignore other parts of the game as they will affect you no matter how far you run. But a few days ago a report was pushed on to my desk, my table... okay, the bar. I took another swig of my whisky and quickly ran my eyes over it. It was a typical good Woldy manifesto nothing to be too shocked by. Then I started reading the military and foreign affairs section; the important part for soldiers like me. Staying allied with TWO, not signing a peace treaty with Ireland, and a national military - all good things that I agree with. Wait, did he just say a national military?

I assume my reaction was similar to a lot of people in the eUK, “We do not have the money and the game doesn’t have the economy to fund a national military any more” and started wondering if I would have to start calling him mad King Woldy. I mulled this over a few times whilst sipping my whisky (as you have to when you mulling something over). I wasn’t happy - I had been fighting to get politics out of the running of the military for a long time and I wasn’t going to throw that away.So I thought no this doesn’t sound right, Woldy knows the eUK’s situation better than anybody and so I went to talk to him directly.

After sitting down and having a chat with Woldy he set things straight and fully explained his idea that I now actually really like.

So lets start at the start. We are not a huge hitter in the eWorld sadly, this is fact and I doubt we ever will be. But we used to always surprise other countries and hit above our weight. We made up for our lack of firepower by fielding one of the most organised and rapidly supplied armies in the world. There is a good reason a number of our best military minds are now sitting or have sat in TWOs HQ chairs. We used to out manoeuvre and out mobilise a lot of other countries, hugely frustrating our enemies.

Sadly things have changed. We are divided and our mobilisation speed to battle is starting to hurt us just as our enemies want it to do. But I feel with this plan of action we can change things - we can start to be a real threat to our enemies again.

I know quite a few people were struggling with what Woldy meant when he said “National Military” so going to do my best to explain it in a bit more depth.

The infrastructure of the Military units

Right, first things first the government will not change or exclude MU's so all MU's will be invited and the government will not make any Military Unit change its supplies, its recruiting process, its members or it's leadership. A military unit can leave whenever it wants, giving the MU's the flexibility to do what it feel is best for the eUK and the military unit itself. This means nothing will change to any of the military units or the soldiers, it will be like any day at the barracks.

The supplies which would be offered

The eUK has spare funds, the real problem is getting them to the battlefield effectively. Woldy knows that a Military unit can normally out supply government channels as they already know where and who needs supplies. So Woldy wants to make a war chest so when red alert sirens start blaring the MOD can go straight to the military units of the eUK commanders in the program and say here are some weapons and cash can you use them to kill our enemy here.

An organised response program

That is pretty much it - the military unit gets to decide who and how the weapons get supplied so the MOD would select the target as they do most of the time and then the Military unit decides how to hit it so pretty much do what we do best. Also all military unit commanders in the program will form an advisory board so more communication directly with the MOD about all things military. So more communication directly with the MOD about all things military. So with this organised response program we can mobilise rapidly dropping large amounts of damage when the euk needs it most and with World War 6 starting to flare up I think the eUK will need focused damage more than ever. Another difference is this idea adds more pressure on commanders and troops to fight smart and to succeed, adding great incentives for an otherwise splintered military to really focus and control it’s power.

Tl:dr Stop reading my articles then.

It is the noblest and safest thing for a great army to be visibly animated by one spirit.
