WET & WILD IN THAILAND!

Day 1,970, 21:43 Published in Thailand Thailand by Mystela

AND THERE'S NO PLACE TO HIDE!

Whether you're a golden Buddha, or a stout Batman,

riding two or three on a bike, or as many as you can,

going north or south, you might travel a mile,

to be ambushed by monks, while policemen smile!

There's no escape by cab, with a roof or without,

young men are waiting and young women no doubt,

playful boys full of life, sweet girls without strife,

your husband is fair game & so is your wife!

Good luck elephants are searching for someone to stalk and the babies are waiting to bless you with chalk,

as you dance in the light of a sun drenched ray, Suk San Wan Songkran! Happy Songkran Day!

Dance Campaign by Thailand Policewomen to Reduce Accidents During Songkran

For those of us who can't be there, everything that you should know about Thailand's beautiful spiritual & family traditions, kept during their extended New Year's celebrations, so that you can plan for next year! 😃

The traditional act of throwing water during Songkran is a cleansing ritual to promote good luck in the upcoming year. Wearing chalk on the face is also part of the Thailand Water Festival ritual as it depicts the use of chalk by monks for blessings. Source
