Weekly Update

Day 724, 15:33 Published in Japan USA by Dokomo

Today brings an end to my first week in office, so I will share today what I have been working for as President.

At first, most of my time was occupied with the Bank Crisis. We have done a fair job investigating the crime, but full resolution is up to the admins at this point. Economic recovery continues and the yen has never been a better value. I encourage all to buy jpy for the consumption needs. The citizens of Japan really came through for us in the dark days with loans and donations, and we are working hard to repay everyone who loaned the National Bank of Japan money.

In foreign relations the first test came swiftly as Indonesia declared war on Malaysia. As of now, Malaysia is retreating all of their Thai regions back to Thailand so Indonesia will be forced to attack an original Malaysian region and open 22 MPP's or slink away from the fight.

Indonesia has also been in the news for leaving PEACE. We do not currently have an MPP with Indo, instead allying with Hungary and Russia for protection. Inside PEACE I can say that there are many people working to hold the alliance together and reform it for more openness and accountability and I hope to see the fruits of our labors in the next few days.

Tensions with the USA seem to have declined. I have been in contact with Josh Frost, the President several times, and I do not believe we face a threat from the east currently. One unannounced piece of business in Foreign Affairs was my long standing goal of obtaining medium Iron for Japan. We have a unique opportunity in that the citizens of North Korea wish to merge with Japan for protection in the new age of expensive MPP's. I have not been able to negotiate a method of obtaining a border with Hamyong with Russia currently. Regardless, I will keep my eyes out for any opportunities, and will keep working with Russia on this and other matters we share.

For next week, I will be working with cabinet to get more publicity for the programs we offer for Japan through the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Also watch for news from PEACE and especially on the forums. We will require a lot of input from citizens on very important topics, and I encourage everyone to take a hand in the future of Japan.
