Weekly Challenge Booster Rewards (Plus tips for using them)

Day After Tomorrow (Mandatory listening)
Day 3213 of the New World
September 6, 2016

Good day eUSA!

It’s your friendly USWP Party President, Congressional Speaker of the House, and Director of the bustling *Environmental Protection Agency chiming in.

First off, allow me a moment to gloat a little bit. 16 Shells predicted that the Presidential Election would be a very close race and it was. It is my opinion that there were some “mystery votes” activated, maybe even on both sides. Speaking on behalf of USWP I formally promise the people of eUSA (and Admin!) that there were no efforts made to activate “bot” voters, to purchase votes from any available pools of potential voters, or any other kind of chicanery. Not only can I say without hesitation that I and USWP had nothing to do with such cheating, but I have also received the personal assurance from Candidate Pfeiffer that he also had no part in any election fraud whatesoever. I believe him.

Pfeiffer did work his ass off though, and deserved the win. We’ll see what Admin has to say about it on the morning of the 7th.

But this is not an article about elections.

Today is the first day of the new weekly challenge. And there are a couple of new things to see, so I will offer my tips on how to make the most of these prizes.

First, what can we expect to earn? I will publish the Prestige Points needed and the award indicated below. Don’t miss the last section of this article where I offer a few brief tips on how to use these awards. They’re not total crap.

I will continue to update the list as I discover next rewards...

I found a Spanish dude who is tracking this also, no sense duplicating work, so check here: https://www.erepublik.com/en/article/weekly-challenge-day-3213-2612185/1/20

His article also compares this week's awards with a "regular" week, showing how truly lame this event is.

Let’s talk about each of those awards for a moment, starting with the Infantry Kit Booster. It is the most totally useless one, after all.

The booster only does one thing. It inhibits Experience (XP) gain when fighting. It lasts 30 minutes.

This used to be a good thing when lower division soldiers were trying to build their strength while remaining in a low division. Let’s face it, if you are just entering into Division 4 at this point, your chances for a Battle Hero medal are bleak. I will save my advice for how to do this for another article. But my point here is that two dynamics have made Infantry Kits useless. First, ATA combat is division-less AND is not effected by Infantry Kits. Second, Maverick Packs ruined lower division fighting. So these IK Boosters are only worth anything to those MONSTER STRENGTH players who still like to prowl around the lower Divisions.

So the best use for the Infantry Kit Boosters is to activate them just before you go to sleep, then log off and let them expire. Seriously, there is a 95% chance that these things are worth NOTHING to you.

But what about the Power Pack Booster? What is it worth?

Short answer: 2 energy bars.

The 1 hour Power Pack booster, once activated, increases your energy gain by 20 per 6 minutes. So over the course of the hour, you will gain 200 more energy than you would have without it. In other words, 2 energy bars worth of energy. These will NOT stack, so you cannot get +40 by activating 2 at a time (That would have actually made these more interesting).

How should you use it? I can only think of one semi-useful way.

If you like to head into reset Tuesday (new Weekly Challenge) with a full “clip” of energy, these temporary boosters can help you reload more quickly. It’s always nice to wake up on a Tuesday bloated with energy that you can unload in hopes of rushing to that first +20 Award.

Let me just say that if you do plan to use the Power Pack Booster to help you get a little head start on the weekly challenges, it would probably be wisest to save up as many as you get, then use them ALL on some Tuesday morning. Getting the “jump” on the weekly challenge is the best way to use it to maximum advantage.

I really cannot fathom any other use for this thing.

Finally,

the Blitzkrieg Pack Booster.

Here we have a legitimately useful item IF USED PROPERLY.

The Blitzkrieg Booster activates a +2000 energy “house”. This means that your energy meter is capable of storing that much more energy.

Now having such a thing active for one hour is basically useless. You cannot fill it up that quickly.

However, if you are about to “level up”, you should activate one of these boosters. Leveling up always brings a fresh refil of your energy meter. Having a +2000 energy meter means a bonus of 20 energy bars worth of energy refil.

So this prize is worth 20 energy bars. Still not that big of a deal, but it’s something.

Best Case Scenario

If you are going to make a commitment to attacking some future (normal) Weekly Challenge, combining several of these boosters will help you if you do it right.

The goal is to aim for 5,000 Prestige Points as quickly as possible. You’ll hit a +10 energy recovery at 500PP, but if you can get to the 5K you get another one. So let’s establish that as the goal for this little strategy.

You will have to wait until X hours before reset on Monday night, then activate your Power and Blitzkrieg boosters. Then as soon as reset hits (yes, decide to stay up until just after reset) and the new Weekly Challenge is posted, start shooting. Ideally you should also be gunning for some Gold, so maybe your best bet is to find a Sky Hero medal. Remember, you’re “all in” up to 5K PP, so you’ve already decided to dump your energy bars and whatnot.

Don’t overkill. 5K Prestige points might be enough to earn you two Sky Hero medals instead of just one (or maybe even more, but you have to wait for them to open up).

Anyway, the addition of the Power and Blitzkrieg Boosters (plus a level-up or two if you get them) should make it possible for everyone in eRep to hit a 5K award early enough in the week to really enjoy the benefits.

By the way, you’ll have to figure out what “X” is in the example above. How many Blitz and Power Boosters do you have? What time can you “wake up” (or how long can you “stay up”) to do some tanking? You’ll have to figure that out for yourself, but entering into the week with an additional 2000 energy PLUS the +2000 at level-up makes it that much easier to hit 5K.

All in all this was a very crappy Weekly Challenge.

Very. Crappy.
