The Tyler I Knew

Day 898, 16:32 Published in Canada Canada by Rolo Tahmasee

I first met Tyler F Durden during WW3. I was a 2-clicker at the time with limited knowledge of the game and still wasn't sure quite what to think of it. but hey, it only took 5 minutes a day, right?

I would often see Tyler online late at night during the battles and we often exchanged PM's. You see the "Fight Club" soap in my avatar?, that's right, it's still there. He would always take the time to answer my noob questions and would send me his weapons to fight with as I had higher strength than him and could inflict more damage. He was always putting Canada first. I was amazed by his generosity and his effort during the war as he repatriated lost eCanadians before the citizenship module came into affect

For several months after the war I was only semi active. I worked and trained daily and read newspaper articles to keep myself up to date. I would search through the comments sections of articles to see if I could find comments from Tyler, and I usually did. As he ran for congress, I always made sure to have a moving ticket and a vote just before midnight, in case Tyler needed it.

I was in awe of the sheer volume of activity of Tyler, from the daily articles in "The Soap Box", to the links to other articles, to the activity on the forums, to IRC. The knowledge of the game was immense. I watched as he grew the CPF into the party it is today. He still always took the time to answer any PM's I sent as we kept in touch.

I waited for the day he would run in an election for country president

Well the election happened and I'm not going to rehash the end result. It's no secret that eCanada has become somewhat stagnant and I can't help but feel we're headed for more of the same..... I know I'm not that excited about a war with France, feels like we've been down this road before. One thing that can be said about Tyler is that he had BIG plans, and love him or hate him, things would have been interesting...The articles alone would have been worth the risk of admission

I hope that during the day of the election Tyler stayed offline. I hope he didn't see the hate spewing his way, but I suspect he did. If PM's were sent, well that's just over the top

Perhaps Tyler has left the game for good and this entire mess behind him. It would be hard to blame him at this point, but for me and others like me, he will be sorely missed and the game will never be the same for us.

Some people speak of the legend of Adam Sutler and how he has affected them in this game. Adam Sutler was before my time in this game, but Tyler will always hold a similar place for me. One wonders for one to truly be a legend does the profile need to read &quot😉ead Citizen"? Does all hope of a return need to end?

Am I ready for the permanent loss of Tyler?, Are you? I can't honestly answer at this point, but until then in this darkness I will light a candle of hope

and leave with this comment
