The Karnataka Situation
Desertfalcon
Just a couple of days ago the president of India issued a statement which said that he would be seeking the return of Karnataka to India. Currently the high iron region is being rented out to the U.S. in order to maximize productivity of the region and to help keep the region secure from Phoenix. For the past several months this deal has been going on, however the Indian president now feels that it would be in India's best interest to take back the high iron region as a way to make India more self sufficient and independent. There have also been rumors of a Phoenix nation making a better rent offer however none of these rumors have been found to have any merit.
The president of India has said that rather than align with Phoenix or EDEN, India will be making Karnataka a free trade zone. This means that both alliances will be able to move in citizens and create companies in the region although seeing as Karnataka has a history of being under EDEN control, most of the exports will likely be to EDEN countries. This is probably the best move for India if they were to retake Karnataka since it gives both alliances a reason not to attack the country and also opens the gates for more people to move into the region to help maximize productivity which is something India desperately needs. As of right now it's hard to say how much India will make off of the high iron region since there is no sure way of knowing how many people who work in iron will move to India. If India wants to make a lot of money off the region though, they will need to have a baby boom in order to increase their productivity and make them less susceptible to PTOs. Still, in the long run this is probably in India's best interst so long as they can keep the region secure.
On the other hand the U.S. stands to lose quite a bit. While most of the revenue gained from Karnataka is lost in the rent payment there is a small profit which will be missed by the U.S. government. On top of that this will result in the loss of hundreds of American raw material jobs which will lead to an influx of land workers trying to find work in other land industries such as wood. The surplus of workers will likely mean a decrease in land wages across the board until enough raw material companies are started up in the U.S. to make up for the lost jobs in Karnataka. The loss of Karnataka could also lead to stepped up efforts by the U.S. to take Lion King from Serbia and possibly make a rent agreement with China.
The major question for India though, is how will they keep Karnataka secure from a foreign invasion given India's small population. The truth is Karnataka will actually be less susceptible to invasion now that it will be in Indian hands since in order to attack the region a country would have to activate a string of MPPs unlike before where they would only have to fight off the United States. The region is also located in southern India and is only bordered by other Indian regions so an invader would have to fight through one or two regions first before they could even have a shot at taking the region. Despite being secure from a military invasion India will likely be the target of multiple PTOs. With such a small population it won't be hard for Phoenix or EDEN to move in a couple hundred voters and take control of congress or the presidency. Now that Karnataka will be under Indian control there will be even more motivation for PTOs so expect a lot of chaos in India on election day.
It is pretty clear now that the region will be handed over peacefully. While the American president said that he would consider holding Karnataka against India's will in his last campaign, he has since said that he would not take such action in this situation and that he would respect India's wishes. The Indian president has also reportedly made up his mind on the issue so it's only a matter of days before an official announcement will be made. After that announcement there will likely be a grace period for American workers to leave Karnataka before it is officially handed over to India. So if you live in Karnataka it's probably a good idea to purchase your moving tickets in advance, unless you want to have the government bail you out.

Please try to explain our friends in India that taking Karnataka back makes little sense as they can't really use it. They will lose it in less them 2 weeks, and I am guessing Hungary will try to take it swapping through PHX countries. Just an educated guess though.
@ Ervin
I'm not advising them to move or anything, just telling them its better to be prepared.
@ Romper
PHX will have a difficult time fighting through all of India's MPPS, a PTO is what we have to worry about.

I meant this also 🙂
"So if you live in Karnataka it's probably a good idea to purchase your moving tickets in advance. "

Such nationalism of claiming lands back are not rational at all.
Renting out a place in exchange of currency and security will be a good deal to both side and the entire Asia region.
No offence, but manage one less region could help eIndia to maintain the rest of her motherland.
We(eChina people) had suffered too much, and no one would like to see neighborwood being invade again and again.
You have not written in quite some time.
Excellent article as you usually write when you write.
kick serbia from lionking and rent it from china
India is very vunerable to PTO, and this should happen after the eUSA takes Liaoning...so maybe not to soon
india sign NAP with indonesia and iran and close a deal with america
"Friend Freeman 4 minutes ago
kick serbia from lionking and rent it from china "
this
Not good
😃
Friend Freeman you already tried that and failed miserably
lol failed miserably? if that so why most serbs fight kamikaze in desperation ?🙂
I think it was good demonstration of power from both sides
try to respect your enemies MaxHardcore , dont bring RL hate and frustration from RL in here
ErvinB, because we wanted to win, who was preventing eden players from kamikaze? maybe you would have won it and not waste a few 10k gold on the battle, FOR NOTHING
OH SNAP!
Dear Serb Trolls,
You arguments are both flawed and inaccurate. If you are going to argue than please try to use vocabulary that deviates from the standard of "fail", "Snap and "Random RL reference". Please learn that this is a game that actually has a level of civility to it. Kthnx bai
Love,
Gaius
Move to eSouth Africa. We have plenty of land jobs and some of the highest wages in the world!
i see, thats why a large amount of eAmericans lable eSerbians as "serves".
How do the admins let this go on is beyond me.
Gaius Julius, do you need help dismounting from your moral pedistal?
''kick serbia from lionking and rent it from china''
Hahaha very funy
Elvin who spent more golds in battle for Liaoning?
We didn't fight kamikaze(I mean for VeS - army of eSerbia)
You are wrong my friend
Who wins?
Spain.
whole serbian army kamikazed in lionking.
they held it but barely. next time we win. and that is going to be soon. very soon
The law of force is the strongest.
СА ВЈЕРОМ У БОГА ! ! !
ЖИВЈЕЛА СРБИЈА ! ! !
is it me or would it make a tonne more sense for USA to wait until the next CP election before making the final decision on this? what if the next Indian government sees its relationship with USA more positively?
if the next indian president wishes for karnataka returned then let them have it.
ErvinB spending that much more gold on LK sure is failing miserably in my book.
"whole serbian army kamikazed in lionking."
If that were true, one simple RW the next day would have cought us off-guard and unable to defend ourselves. You're just making stuff up.
ErvinB i think that you threw everything that you have on us and you failed to win.And btw there wasnt that much kamikazing and all the ppl that were kamikazing came back to normal in 2 days😛
@ Rainer
The vast majority of the eIndian government wants the region returned so it wouldn't really make any difference.
@Shiratoriman; I dont think you are in the right to call yourself Serbian or at least know anything about the Serbian Military or people when you, yourself put up only 5 fights to hold on to your most valuable region
evacuation??
and that just proves our point that we didnt hit with everything we got this time, but still made over 8 milions damage
A lot of assumptions in the article.
1. Who would even fight for India? If they want to take Karnataka from us I know I wont, and I dont know many people in ANY country that would.
2. A Phoenix nation can take Karnataka against India + any MPPs, and have another nation swap in.
After that, who's gonna dislodge that nation from Karnataka, a nation that wont have any MPPs activated against itself?
If Canada wouldn't rent out their diamonds, why should India rent out their Iron? At least Canada has two of them.
Very nice article. English major I bet.
Being neutral and independant is a nice dream for small population countries with high resource regions. I hope India can realize that dream.
MPP's don't last forever. When the current ones run out, will India be able to afford to renew them? Will the EDEN/Brolliance landworkers stay in Karnataka after it's returned? Given that India wants to be neutral and sell a vital war commodity to both sides, will defending India be a high priority for EDEN/Brolliance?
My guess on all of these questions is "unlikely".
My bet is that within two months of the US returning Karnataka to India, it will be in another countries' hands.
If I'm wrong, first person to e-mail me saying "I told you so" earns five USD.
@ Dante
Plenty of countries will line up to protect India if it means keeping access to the high iron region. And for your second point Phoenix country would have to take the region first. India will be near impossible to take as long as the MPPs are active.
@ JBB
India only needs a few MPPs with strong nations so they will likely have the gold to renew them. Also it is very likely that if India can't afford these mpps that other countries will be willing to front the bill in order to protect the high Iron. Right now the U.S. is the only country that can protect the region but if India signed an MPP with just the U.S. and two other powers in the game the region would be even harder to take militarily than it is now.
India is showing that they are not, after all, strong of heart and mind enough to be strong allies-- obviously lacking military power the other two are the important intangible considerations, and they've their marbles.
India seems determined to be the armpit of the eWorld, and we have no choice but to allow them the destiny they choose.
I have to agree with DF. As much as keeping that resource would have helped us move ahead, to go back on our word is something we as a nation just don't do. What would separate us from those who choose to lie and cheat. I don't need to point out which global alliance is famous for THAT! We're eAmericans. We must do what we believe in our hearts is right. Only THEN, may our nation re-evaluate...in the light of that new day. Admins bless America.
@Klauss Cordoba: Wow, someone is feeling particularly asshole-ish it seems.

DF: Karnatak was under PHX/PEACE controll (INDO) for almost 2 years, it was shifted to EDEN only a few months ago. Therefor it is not correct to say that "most of the exports will likely be to EDEN countries" - simply not true.
Just one year ago, K was the ONLY high iron region of PEACE for a period of appr. 6 months, so please correct.
@ Rettentes
and how many of those old companies are still operating? A few of them will probably start back up but the majority of those have been abandoned. Also Indonesia hasn't had control of high iron for about one and Karnataka was one of many PEACE/PHX high iron regions including the regions in China, Russia, and Brazil. While the regions in CHina and Russia have gone back and forth between PHX and EDEN the region in Brazil never changed sides.
Wow... why can't the eUS government see the obvious option here?
Have the eMerican government buy all the companies owned by eMerican business owners. Keep landworkers there and have them work for minimum wage while the rest of their pay is earned via donations. Export the iron back to eMerica. This ensures eMerica still has iron and doesn't have to deal with as much of those pesky taxes.
It will also require greater coordination between landworkers and general managers, but it can be done. In fact, I'm sure that doing this will flesh out the more active landworkers and make it easier for eUSA to recruit a mobile strike force, which can be based in India to produce lots of iron for weapons.
Karnataka to India? Loft to Florida before it screws me up with my CONUS job!
damn so should we start moving back to American states?
