The eIreland Ceann Comhairle Election Results April 2012

Comrades

Congress recently held the election for Ceann Comhairle
You can see the results here.

To run the election we used CIVS online voting system.

To explain
1. Only registered Congressmen/women who supplied an email could vote.
2. As Poll supervisor I was responsible to setting up the poll but I could not see who voted or who people voted for.
3. CIVS checks for multi voting and prevents this.

Of the 40 Congress people elected 39 are still in office
Of these 39 Congress people 24 registered.
Of these 24 registered voters 21 actually voted.

The candidates were
1 Patrick O’Leary nominated by the ILP
2 Marinko Maragin nominated by the IPP

And the results are
Patrick O’Leary 12
Marinko Maragin 8

So I declare Partick the winner
Once again the result can be found by following This Link

Edit: If you notice there were 21 voters but the total votes cast comes to 20. I'm not sure what happened here other than one voter's vote was discounted. Why? well that's anybody's guess...

2nd Edit Message from CIVS
Quote:
"Dear Winston,

For a CIVS election for which you are the supervisor,
the system attempted to send voter keys through email to
the following addresses, but received a bounce message
indicating that mail could not be delivered. You can
issue new voter keys through the election control page
if you determine correct addresses for these voters.

This is not necessarily a complete list of all voters
who did not receive their voter key email, because some
email servers discard mail without notification, and
others generate a notification that is difficult to
interpret.

Finally watch this and smile (well maybe not)...
