Resigning as Minister of Foreign Affairs
Lauri Mursu
With a heavy heart I come to you, the citizens of eJapan, today.
I, Lauri Mursu have been working as the Minister of Foreign Affairs for more or less three and half months. I have served under three different presidents, with several other ministers, with numerous ambassadors, embassies and other foreign diplomats. I have above all worked for Japan, and with Japan.
This is not the time or place to defend my absence during this term. I can just say that because of sudden surprises both in real life and eRepublik, I have not been able to devote enough time to this position. I actually already was about to write this at the start of this week, but as some of you might have heard, I’ve been in an operation which caused great amount of things that had to be taken care of so that I can actually cope at my apartment.
The other reason why I feel that this action is needed is the fact that I do not agree with President Dokomo’s foreign policy, or plans of it, at the moment. I have been left out of the loop as a minister, and I see no possibility for me to work in a hostile environment. But this is not the place to discuss about these matters, I just wanted to shed light on the reasons why I am resigning.
I will not stop playing eRepublik and I will not leave Japan at the moment. What I am doing is taking a time out on governmental positions.
But hear this, citizens of eJapan. The nation is changing. Ask yourself the question: Do You really want it to change?
eJapan, I hereby resign my position as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, effective immediately.
Sincerely,
Lauri Mursu
Sister Hazel – Sword and Shield
Melt in to me
Don't you want to be the ones that last forever
I'll be your everlasting
And enemies they take your will but they won't last forever
I'll be your sword and shield and
I'll be your sword
I'll be your shield
I'll be your gracious angel
I'll be your favorite stranger
I'll be the mortar holding your walls
I'll be your army
Just when the sky runs out of rain
Just when the sun runs out of light
Just when the earth is ill with pain
Just when your body is out of fight
I will be there
I will be the smallest piece in everything
And I would give my life before I break this promise to you

We still love you 😃
Thank you for your service and continue to recover quickly, my friend.
Except for the cheap and unfounded criticism of the current administration, resigning was the honorable thing to do. Thank you for you past service to the country and good luck with your future endeavors.

Thanks for everything Mursu! 🙂
So if you where 100% happy with Dokomo, you would have overcome your IRL medical problems to be active? :/
Somehow that doesn't rung true.
As much as I hate to "jump on the bandwagon," yes, I really do want it to change. It's a shame that, though you began under Moto's administration, which was the beginning of the change, you don't share our vision for a stronger, safer, happier, more informed Japan. It's also a bit disappointing to see you didn't know how to /actually/ resign with grace, as opposed to /pretend/ to.
Thanks for Your amazing work Mursu!!
>Except for the cheap and unfounded criticism of the current administration....
Mursu is allowed to critique the current administration, and there should be nothing wrong with that. If the views of Mursu don't match yours Adavek, there is no need to be blunt to such a degree.

It is suddenly a shame to disagree with what kind of change the nation should go through? Progress for the sake of Progress Ember, is not always the path that shines the brightest for the future of oneself. We agree to disagree, and in learing about differing opinions in one another is the best way to reach compromise plans in changing the eNation.
Hope to see you around Mursu!
Was a pleasure to work with you in Cabinet.
Hope you all the best in temporary retirement. 🙂

Okee dokee then.
Safe travels, Mursu, and the best of wishes for your health.
As one who also had to resign from the same position because of the need for an active and involved Ministry, I know how it can be quite stressful. Rest and recover. Kami willing, eJapan will still be here when you return. ~.^

*hugs mursu*
While I agree that things need to change, I think I am one of the few that doesn't see the street of change as a narrow one way lane. I see us at an intersection.
Some of you may want to go back, others foreword, and many of you right. Personally, I would like to at least glance left to ensure no one is going to hit us as we move.
Who knows, after a look, we may see left as looking fairly nice.
Fae, i think instead of left, right, ahead or behind we should consider above! xD
Get well mursu!
Thanks for all your accomplished work for eJapan and now place to the next !

OF COURSE !

"You'll be back"

Wait, shit, I mean Yes. Right?

Still have a good time!
Japan had a MoFA? Who knew.
Oh and Yes to that other question posed.

Yes, thats why i'm running for prez!
Thank you for your service, Mursu. Be well.
Please continue to work for, and with, our glorious nation.
What evil is this?
An honorable citizen of eJapan resigns for RL problem and Ideological difference with the Administration (which he is free to do) and it becomes spam fest.
How low can we go Citizens of eJapan?
On this, I agree with Akki.
i think mursu did a good job while he was active. i know things come up in real life, for me too, especially in the last few days, but i hope mursu will be active in-game. regimes change, the old leadership does not have the votes it once has and maybe a new direction in foreign affairs is good? and if it turns out bad, whats to stop mursu from coming back and campaigning on that?
it seems a lot of people who were basically in power ever since i arrived in japan have been withdrawing from national affairs after losing a few congressional and presidential elections. too bad for them and too bad for the country... their ideas wont be heard if they leave and maybe they still have some good ones.

We have only to look to you for guidance.

Yes.
"and it becomes spam fest"
Don't ask a question if you are not ready for the answer.
I was wondering what had happened to you Lauri. I bid you well with your IRL issues, and I can't wait to see you around again. Perhaps someday in Finland 😘

Fully agreed Akki.
I wasted my life reading the pointless comments. Gotta love when Akki is right though.
M-Ursu, you did your job very well. Ignore the rude comments, we all know how people feed on the drama. You did the right thing and your article is proper.
I actually would love to see you join me in Austria though, so think about coming :3. Unless Lava is on the move again, which would be pretty awesome...
Hope everything turns out well IRL, good luck Mr. Walrus.
" M-Ursu, you did your job very well."
Perhaps he once did. He hasn't been doing a good job for some time.

It's like Christmas, it comes around once a year, and everyone rejoices.

Wait a minute...You missed work? I hate when that happens. and about the change idk what its gonna change to so I'm not so sure on it maybe I will go reread Dokomos article outlining his plans and see if I like his direction.
