Reformation of Irish Socialism
Gerald Smyth
The Irish Socialist Party needs to rethink it's ideology. I would like to congratulate LacticAcid on his recent victory as Party President. I would like to condemn all anti-Irish and anti-Socialist behavior from past Party Presidents. I wish to build up power and prosperity through change in our party. We need to promote Irishism and Socialism throughout our party, our country and throughout the new world. To build on this, we need to strengthen our relationships with other smaller parties such as the Irish Union Party and the Irish Freedom Party. We need to free the intelligent and well deserving Brits from the possibility of a vile government through negotiation of territory and invasion if necessary. We need to lead not leave EDEN, strengthen our relationship with TERRA and crush ONE. Foremost, we must stop Poland's invasion of Eastern Europe at all costs we must preserve and protect the eUkraine. We need to fix the mess in Canada and put the people to power. We need to increase Ireland's population -- no exceptions, let immigration flow! I hope everyone will support these ideals and I hope everyone will join the Irish Socialist Party and I hope everyone will have unneeded bolded words for emphasis. How I will help in this process is by announcing my candidacy both for Congressmen in Shannon and for the Irish Socialist Party Presidency (an election far off, however). I hope the kind citizens of Shannon will vote for me for Congress and I hope that my fellow Irish Socialists will vote for me for Party President come next month.
Long live Eire!

A few points…
1) EIRESOC holds the country presidency and many of its ministries. And it is one of the strongest and most effective presidencies in Irish history so far. We are getting more powerful by the minute, just like we planned. What exactly do you want to change about that?
2) What specific "anti-Irish" or "anti-socialist" behavior are you referring to? You can't just make sweeping claims like this without some kind of example. The vast majority of EIRESOC's members work in MU communes. And Ireland (under its EIRESOC president) is currently giving out a shit ton of free Q6 tanks to its citizens – far more per person than most other governments in eRepublik. I don't know how much more socialist you can get than that within game mechanics (which do not allow for true control over all of the means of production in a country). However, specific suggestions would certainly be given serious consideration.
3) Maybe you noticed the referendum on EDEN we held recently in which a resounding 85% of voters elected to stay in the alliance? Furthermore, we already dole out far more damage for our allies than could be reasonably expected for a country of our size. It seems most of Ireland is in agreement on our commitment to our EDEN allies – most especially members of the ISP.
4) Completely agree with your point about the strengthening the relationships with other parties. Also on increasing the Irish population. Any specific suggestions on how to achieve this?
I admire your passion and dedication to the party and think you would make an excellent member of congress. And I also like the way you are continually publicizing the party with your articles. Once you gain a little more experience in Irish politics and get to know your fellow Party members a little better I think you would make a great party president. Good luck.
1) I don't want to change our power, just reform the ideology.
2) Socialism not like Leninism, more like FDR in America. Irish as in promoting ourselves globally.
3) Yes I was affirming my belief in EDEN, while though it may not be perfect.
4) Thank you again! Thank you for all your positive influence and engineering on the Party.
Good article, unfortunately you probably won't have the chance to reform the ideology. Best of luck though, viva socialism.
@Gerald Smyth
The Leninist phase is over. As far as I can tell Eire is being run in a Socialist fashion at the moment. The financial system is being manipulated by the state. The state is giving out free supplies to its citizens ( which in a way makes it public/common property of the people.
Are you an internationalist by any chance. As far as I remember an e-world wide socialist movement/organization was founded some time ago. Should ask Mike_Bane about it.
