My Story

Day 2,320, 18:59 Published in Malaysia Malaysia by Marcotje

Hello eMalaysia,

you might wonder what this article is about but it's simple. It's about eMalaysia and why I choose to stay here.

Most of you will know that I'm not from Malaysia. I'm from far away, from the Netherlands. It was actually pretty funny that I learnt (here, on eRepublik) that Malaysia was part of the Dutch kingdom once. At school, teachers told us that Indonesia was part of the Netherlands but never about Malaysia, I find that strange. I probably find that strange because my elife is here and I got to know all of you. (Btw sorry for conquering you, it was not my decision)

What I'm trying to say, with the first part of this article is, that even though our history is different and even though I have never seen you before, I feel welcome here. I feel like I'm a part of eMalaysia. With all the political take overs here in eMalaysia, I'm glad to see you still trust a foreigner in this game.

The first time I came to eMalaysia, I knew nothing about the game. I was completely lost and didn't know what to do. I was invited to join the Mudkip Movement, I was accepted as part of a group that taught me about the game. Only later (when I learnt all the game mechanics) I realized that the Mudkip party was not the way I wanted to play this game so I left the party, but not just the party, I left the country as well.

Then I started travelling around the eworld. With my limited amount of time each day, I tried to make profit. Often successful but only small profits and I started losing interest in this game, until...

I heard eMalaysia was in danger, it was PTOed by eSerbia and that was the moment I knew I had to return. Since that day, I have stayed in eMalaysia. I made a lot of friends, some of them are gone but I kept playing for all the people that are still here.

eMalaysia is my ehome, I've fought for eMalaysia and put time and effort in it. A lot of you have become my friend. The eMalaysian community keeps me playing this game and for that I would like to thank you. You've been amazing and after all this time I'm still in eMalaysia instead of the eNetherlands. I got invited several times to go to my real country but I prefer eMalaysia.

You might wonder why am I writing this article, but the answer to that is simple. Five years and three days ago, I started to play this game and most of the time I played in eMalaysia and for that I want to say: Thank you! You are the best!

Unfortunately, my time is limited and real is keeping me very busy lately but I'm always here when you need me.

Thank you,
Marco
