My Candidacy for Party President

Day 2,916, 08:46 Published in Netherlands Poland by Gwom

Hey eNL,
I'm going to do something I haven't done in a long time... Publishing an article that isn't a government article or contest...
This is: My candidacy for PP of the United Netherlands Party!

Why do I run for PP?
A long time ago I already was the PP of the United Netherlands Party (and its predecessor: the Dutch Peoples Party). I enjoyed running a party together with its members which were good friends of mine. And it is time to try it again. With help from Kordak and Shtula (and of course all other members) I will lead UNP the coming month.

The negativity around UNP
First of all I want to distance myself from the use of multies. The UNP has gotten some reputation lately, and we have been accused of using multies. I want to make clear that our party has never had the intention to get in the top 5 using multies. We simply can't check all our members, and if some of them use multies, it is their mistake, not that of the party.

Secondly we are also being accused of 'bribing' people to join our party. Yes, one of our member gives food to all party members every week. But every individual can start such actions. I want to get rid of this reputation by making a party program together with our members to make clear that we stand for more than only food & gold...

Summary of my plans
- An active media policy.
Informing the people about our opinions, participating in social debates etc.

- Making a party program together with our members.

As said before, we together need to make clear what we stand for.

- Increase activity on the party forum.
The forum is a great means of communication. We can debate our program there, and vote about new motions.

- Get rid of our bad reputation.

The United Netherlands Party isn't a bunch of food and gold greedy multies. We are a group of people with distinctive opinions and great plans for eNL.

- Encouraging new players to join the congress and/or government.
Some players think there is this kind of 'elite' that rules the government and congress. This isn't true, everybody can join in on politics. And we will encourage that!

- Staying away from filthy party politics.
A spectre is haunting eNetherlands — the spectre of party politics. It causes division and terror in the country. As a small nation we should be focussed outwards, not inwards. All the energy put in fighting other parties should be used in international diplomacy. We saw a huge improvement the past half year, but on the forum (mainly in the congress debates) there is still a faint smell of party vs. party politics. Which can escalate any minute. United we stand, divided we fall (into boredom and inactivity).

I want to wish the other candidates: Dennis Plaza & Voleurs the best of luck!
A bright future is ahead of us, we just need to reach out to it...
