Looking to the Future.
Looking at the future in e-NL , what do we do , where do we go ,or do just start a new Alliance????
the Final vote count for the referendum.
The question was: Do we stay in EDEN or Do we leave EDEN

So now that the people have spoken and it looks like that the majority want to leave EDEN , what are the options ?
1 We could try to join Asgard
2 We can start a new Alliance
3 Be Neutral
4 Join CoT or Two ......
My personal thoughts and views on the choices.
1 Joining Asgard is a good option but it won't change things .
Thats only because Cot & Two are to powerfull at this moment, and there are not enough rebellious countries like our own.
Most of them just wanna run with the pack and dont wanna take the risk being wiped for a long time.
So what could we offer Asgard so they would accept us to join their team???
Not so very much loyalty for one ,to fight where we can for them, and a good friendship.
All the things i named they have now , so the most thing we bring along is that we'll give em a headache coz of the polish hordes that
keep terrorizing us.
2 Starting a new Alliance.
My personal favorite , not because its the easiest but just the opposite.
This because good friends within EDEN are not ready to leave or have other reasons to stay where they are now.
But on the otherhand someone has to take the risk to do something new and nobody expects from a small community like ours.
Also if/when we hold out and keep ourselfs standing other countries will respect us for it and who knows when they're not so happy
with EDEN either they might be tempted to follow us in this new adventure.
3 Be neutral.....
Safe,Boring and no fun at all
Also other countries won't trust us having ties to all alliances , and i won't blame em....... I wouldn't trust us..... one day we'll fight
by their sides , next day we would be on the otherside of the trenches....
To me this would be the worsed longterm choice of all
4 I can say alot of things on this but won't ....... personal i don't favor joining the ones that are oppressing us.
We would lose alot of respect , and a life on my knees ......no thanks , i'll pass on that one.
So now i aired my thoughts and views on this tricky subject , i would love to see a discussion devellop in the comments section.
This with the reason that not all citizens of the e-Netherlands come to the forum or IRC .
I just hope that the country still is occupied by rebels that want to take a chance and have fun with the game .
Hopefully alot of you will share my opinion and will choose for a new chapter and a new adventure.
What i've seen in the short period that i'm playing erep , i think that together we can succeed but we have to do this TOGETHER.
If or better when we get all noses in the same direction ,we will succeed.

Option 2 is my favourite as well. There where some countries that wanted to join EDEN, but can't get in right now because of the serious problems HQ is having. It would be nice to team up with countries as France, Iran, Uruguay, Bolivia. Who knows what we could achieve? And wich countries would eventually leave EDEN to join us. I'm thinking of Croatia, China, Israel, Albania, Italy, Colombia, and some more.
Its like the sheep , when ones is passed the gate the rest will follow automaticly 🙂
Some of em are a bit affraid to leave their comfort zone , when they see we're fine without eden ......than for sure others will join us .
It's not really the final count I guess, just like in-game some votes can be removed in the hours afterwards.
But that should not be changing the conclusions too much.
So, this article is a nice start of the debate.
I guess the CP will publish an article tomorrow about the same issues (when the results are also final).
And we indeed should choose our new course.
The reason votes might be removed is mainly that people without voting rights (blacklisted people) can still have voted, so if they have., their votes should be removed).
a vote here or there won't make a difference ,and looking forward to a new adventure 🙂

Hmm I wouldn't go for any of these options, nor stay in Eden 😛
what would your option be , if you can't find yourself comfortable in the options mentioned above ???

that's good, but the question is to the gov. You are doing something they should be doing.
I just wanna make players think about the options that are there , so when we decide what to do that nobody comes wining " i didn't know"
Great iniative of a player to get citizens to discuss important topics outside the IRC and forum. Then atleast no one cant say they didnt have a say. Voted + subbed thank you for this, well done.

Option two. A new alliance of SMALL countries. Might even get me aroused.
I believe we should stay neutral and evade any future conflicts. We stepped out of the alliance and in the eyes of other alliances we're quitters so those aren't usually well accepted 😒 We might regain our territories back if we stay neutral and keep away from future fightings. Those who want to have personal fights might join in the fight of other countries. To be honest we are not big country so we cannot really change effects of the wars but this way we just gain the most out of it... Well it's just my opinion...
Im sure this situation in EDEN is hardly seen as quitting. Its been widely known that there has been turmoil in the alliance and many countries left before Netherlands did.
In my view staying neutral is the worst thing we could do, that really says that we're quitters and just are tired of fighting our oppressors.
That way no one will trust us ever again just because we could be fighting with them the one day , and the next day we're on opposite sides.....
I wouldn't trust us than.
This way we're doing now the just can say that we're a bit crazy to think we could survive by ourselfs.
And if i had to choose i rather be nuts than not trusted by anyone.
Also i don't think of it as quitting , but more in the line of doing something new and controlling our own destiny .
It might backfire or it might not , but that is with every discission that we make in life .
We have to take a chance on the wheel of fortune ........atleast than we have a chance to get out in a better position than we're now.
Staying in eden didn't get us our territories back or wouldn't change things either.
Like you said we have to be realistic , we're to small of a county to change the way things are going at the moment.
Same thing was thought when the Spartans went to battle the persian army that was 100 sizes bigger as they where.
No chance of winning but just a chance to leave the battlefield with honour or die fighting for selfesteem & honour
What would've happened if the spartans would have chosen to be neutral.... the would have a life off oppression and slavery...... and history wouldn't be as it is now.
Small alliance is doomed to fail. We've had a ton of those small alliances and they always fail and never last long.
Not a small alliance. An alliance of small countries. There are enough small countries to make a big alliance!
That's what I meant, this has be done many many times Jeroen, it just doesn't work. It never has and it will never will work
Strictly speaking PEACE was a big alliance of small countries. At least it was until the eIndo babyboom.
what are your ideas on the subject , an experienced player like you must have thoughts about it. any suggestions m8 ???
My suggestion would be be neutral (but that is imho too boring, even eBE gave up on being neutral), or join one of the current alliance.
