Evenin' all.
So here I am. Sat in a coffee shop in a shopping center in Shimonoseki. It's Friday night, and I finished work just over an hour ago. I've taken my right shoe off completely and am sitting comfortably on my right foot. My left is kind of half in my shoe.
Not many customers in, but with it's open plan layout I can see many people passing by. In the store there are two others ... three, a young woman has just come in.
I ordered a coffee with caramel. I normally order something from the 'coffee with' range when I come here. Though I noticed hot chocolate on the menu for the first time today. Next time perhaps.
I'm actually working a little bit on my laptop while writing this. I'm making a visual novel game for my students. A couple of them had a go on it the other day, it seemed to go down well.
Internet? I have pocket wifi from Softbank. Any good? Well, it depends on time and location. Back where I live it trickles down to an almost unbearably slow speed bang on 6:15pm. Here however, at 5:46pm, it's testy. But that's down to being in quite an 'indoorsy' building, I think.
A familly has just walked past, and I have a feeling I know one of the kids. If it's who I think it is, then her parents can be proud of the effort she's been putting into my classes. Alas, today was my last lesson with her in elementary school. Though I'll probably have a few classes with her from April in junior high.
So what do I have planned for this weekend? I'll probably attack the garden again, give myself a headstart on the war that those pesky insects raise every summmer. I'll probably make pancakes too. They were good last time.
Oh, right, this is supposed to be a news article.
Um ...
Given the number of people walking around in wellies with folded up brollies, it's probably raining in Shimonoseki right now.
OH MY GIDDY AUNT! THAT KID JUST LITTERED!!!

You can make your newspaper into your daily diary in Japan. I'll support it.
It really would be very dull.
"Saw a tree ... same one as yesterday ... few leaves missing ... best check with the neighbours."
should be checked for reall mysterious haha
btw what are you teaching?😁
I teach English, though (depending on which school I'm at) I try and throw a few other subjects in there; math and IT mainly.
Cool, I enjoyed reading this a lot. Voted!

^ Would actualy be pretty funny to read this, especially in such a sarcastic way as this. xD
So you're teacher of english and IT, we could use this for our potential baby boom of rl japanese people xD btw nice article, and I agree with Amaterasu Omikami you really should make/write some daily diary, but you don't have to write anything because you said that it would be very dull xD instead you could make some kind of picture diary ( I'm one of those people that beleve that picture is worth a thousand words ), where you could publish pictures of interesting places in your town that you personally took ( culture, historical, educational, place of any kind that you find interesting to share with us ), and you could be our (e)tourist guide and introduce us with your city because many of us dreams to visit Japan one day ( and for many of us it will only be just a dream xD ), so I think it could be a good idea if you have some free time to make some intresting articles about your town in Japan filled with pictures and some short comments😁 V+S
Thanks for this article. I really found it refreshing... actually got up and made myself a pot of coffe!
Sounds like a nice ending to a busy week. Hope you have a great weekend!
Keep the articles coming.
