In a shocking move, Headmistress Talia has stepped down from her position as Libertarian Party President following the Libertarian Party's heavy Congressional losses in May. Talia, who had served several consecutive terms as Party President, was replaced by Claire Littleton.

The move comes after the Libertarian Party lost a large percentage of their Congressional seats in May, including previously favored spots like Virginia. Many in the party blamed a lack of communication for the failures.

Littleton, a New Jersey Congresswoman and recent force in reorganizing the flagging Libertarian party, assumes the position of Party President at a time of tension and confusion in Libertarian ranks. The move comes only two days after the launch of Littleton's new Libertarian forum and her concerted bid to restructure the party.

Talia, in a brief message on her newspaper, stated that the eRepublik was no longer fun for her, and that a break was in order. In her message, Talia acknowledged the Party President position would be safe under Claire's stewardship.

Littleton, one of several voices calling for a reform of communication and organization in the Libertarian Party, siezed the leadership role in several proactive moves including a rejuvenation of the Libertarian IRC Chat and the previously mentioned forums.
