IRC Tutorial

This tutorial is for everyone who needs to learn how to access IRC = Internet Relay Chat and create-register a Nickname for IRCing or IRC Chatting.

IRC tutorial, joining #NewRecruits

1- Load this web page on your internet browser: chat.mibbit.com for a web IRC client.

2- Click on Connect pull down menu to find and select server: Rizon.net [webirc]

3- Write a name in the Nickname field. Use your eRepublik name, preferred.

4- Channel name: #NewRecruits



5- Click Connect

6- Click on tab labeled Rizon

7- Type this comman😛
/msg NickServ Register A-temporaryPassword youremail@Valid-email.com

8- The server will reply like this:
NickServ - A passcode has been sent to yourEmail@Valid-email.com
please type /msg NickServ confirm passcode-received to complete registration

9- Go to your e-mail and look in your inbox or spam folder for a message like this:

Subject: Nickname Registration YourNickName

Hi, You have requested to register the following nickname YourNickName
Please type /msg NickServ confirm eXaMPleCode to complete registration.
If you don't know why this mail was sent to you, please ignore it silently. PLEASE DON'T ANSWER TO THIS MAIL!
Rizon administrators.

10- On the Rizon tab, confirm your registration by typing this:
/msg NickServ confirm eXaMPleCodeRizonSentYou

11- You'll get a reply from the server:
NickServ Nickname YourNickName registered under your account: *cgiirc@*.yourISPdomain.com
+++ YourNickName set to mode +r

12- Now, you need to create a permanent password for your IRC nickname, write it down and keep it safe.

13- Type on the Rizon tab the following comman😛
/ns set password thePasswordYouCreated

14- The server reply will be like this:
NickServ Password changed

15- Close the web browser window



16- Open a browser window or a new browser tab and type on the address bar chat.mibbit.com

17- Click on Connect menu to find and select server: Rizon.net [webirc]



18- Look for these links Server | Auth | Charset

19- Click on link that says Auth

20- Two new input fields will appear: one with a pull down menu and another one for text entry input.

21- From pull down menu select NickServ

22- On text entry field, type your nickname Password

23- On Nick text entry field, type your Nickname

24- On Channel text entry field type the channel you want to join to begining with the symbol #, example #NewRecruits

25- Click on Connect button. That's it!
