Introducing The Fair Dealer

Day 508, 09:03 Published in USA USA by Nick Everdale

There comes a time when a man has to stand up.
There comes a time when Americans need a friend in the media.
There comes a time when news must be delivered unbiased by power.

The time is now. The paper is The Fair Dealer

MY PLEDGE

I pledge to deliver a paper that provides useful news and commentary on subjects related to eRepublik - from both a roleplay perspective and an out-of-character view. Too many players get so involved in the petty politics and popularity of government that they forget this is, after all, just a game.

This newspaper, then, will be a voice for both casual players looking for a touch of reality and for experienced, committed players looking to immerse themselves further in the game. This newspaper will not pick fights between players who "take the game too seriously," and will never weigh charges of a player being "inactive" or "unhelpful" because they choose not to participate in the forums.

This, ladies and gentlemen, will be a paper for all people. I hope, in time, that our unique position in eRepubilk will create a strong and loyal readership where comments and suggestions are welcomed, writing contributions encouraged, and friendly debate paramount over all.

WHAT THIS PAPER WILL CONTAIN

I will try very hard to update this paper several times a week, but working a political lobbying job in Washington D.C. will, from time to time, eat into my ability to do so.

To fix this, I invite both young and old players to submit small articles on any subject of their choice to be published in a weekly anthology issue of The Fair Dealer. This paper cannot and must not be solely my voice.

I will also do my utmost to provide analysis of eRepublik events for those who are less experienced. I will provide articles that touch on serious subjects of crime, war, and corruption, but also humorous articles and pieces which remind us why we came to play this game in the first place.

There will be no blind respect for leaders, nor the feeling that our powerful regulars are above a little lampooning now and then. But let it always be in good fun, as this paper would like to make enemies of no one.

Thank you, and I hope you subscribe and join The Fair Dealer in its mission to provide thought-provoking commentary and news to all users of the eWorld.
