Interview with Istencsaszar, dictator of Slovakia

Day 3,945, 02:21 Published in Ireland Hungary by aimeisan

Dear citizens of eIreland,

We airstriked Slovakia in the hope of a new war. On this occasion I made an interview about Slovakia and actual international questions with Istencsaszar, the dictator of Slovakia.

Introduce yourself! How long have you been playing with the game, what positions did you have and how did you go to Slovakia?

I registrated in 2009 February, since then I have been continuously playing with varying activity. In the past almost ten years I have been in virtually every conceivable position in Hungary. I was advisor, Minister of Defence, Foreign Affairs, Interior, Communications, I was in the team in these ministries countless times, I was vice president more times and once I could lead the country as president in 2013 February. Usually I was in the leadership in my military units too. This is how it has been in Hungary's biggest MU, the Kárpát Dandár, although now it is suspended since I had to go to another MU because of the dictatorship.

I came to Slovakia in 2016 spring. That time we knew that a resource war event will come. Slovakia belonged to Hungarian sphere of interest in the previous years (too), but in contrast to for example Austria its leadership was inactive or they weren't really ready to compromise, so because of the coming resource war we decided we needed Hungarian control to get the bonuses for Slovakia that Hungary needed (one country could get only as many bonuses as the number of its regions were). Finally we could get a relative good food bonus set in the Bratislava region. Then came the idea that we could stay and secure the Hungarian interests by TO. This had a dual purpose: to make sure that the Hungarian interests will prevail and to help Hungarian players to get medals that were very difficult to get at home (dictator medals, presidential medals, congress medals). We received people continuously. In its heyday approximately 30 people made the team. Today we are less, but still persist.

What should we know about Slovakia? How is the country's relationship with Hungary?

Before our arrival Slovakia was a completely inactive country. Several times occured that nobody ran for presidency for months. There were no articles in the media. Most of the year they were under Hungarian occupation that time. When we came here they became slightly more active, tried to take back control over the parties and the congress or the presidential medal. However the number of the active people never reached 10. Their relation to the Hungarians is coldly neutral. Obviously they are not happy with the foreign control over their country, but since we try not to cause unnecessary inconvenience for them, they resigned to the existing situation. At the events we talk and communicate with them and try to find the best solution for everyone.

Is Hafhaf, the only Slovakian tank an RL Slovakian player? How can you cooperate with him?

Hafhaf is the only really active Slovakian. We talk with each other but I wouldn't call it cooperation. His primary complain was always that there is not enough Slovakian battle. To improve the character the TW would had been better for him, but for us the continuous deletion was favourable. This is from where all of our conflicts came.

In the last months you had TW with Ukraine. It was forced or consensual? How did it end?

It was both. Initially when Hungary became deleted by Serbia and Romania, the Slovakian regions were partitioned between Iran and Ukraine. For some time we were under deletion, than the Ukrainians asked the dictator that time if we want to have TW. Since this way we could have congress and regions, we agreed and cooperated. We didn't have much choice because if we refused the constant deletion would had remained. And this way we could also make favour for Hafhaf. 🙂

How plausible is that one of the neighbouring countries wants to get Slovakia that could endanger Ireland's stay?

It's not Slovakia itself that they want to get, but because of Slovakia is Hungarian sphere of interest, the enemies of Hungary want to take it away continuously. Although now after companies were moved, the importance of Bratislava will decrease within the Hungarian economy so the enemies will have less reason to keep it occupied.

At the same time now the world's main war theater is in Poland, and this can easily affect the Slovakian regions, since we are good staging area towards the Polish regions. So it is conceivable that one of the Asterian countries will want to help Poland through us.

After five months rRonin leaves the presidential chair. How would you evaluate the presidency of rRonin, how successul it was taking into account the circumstances?

I am sad that he doesn't continue. I can only thank to him, also in the name of the other Hungarian players, that he assumed presidency in this very difficult period and he secured the operation of the state and the organization at least on a basic level. Taking into account the possibilities he did a very successful job, since our statehood has survived, we had congress, we repelled serious attacks and achieved great victories (for example the French and Portuguese attacks in USA, the expel of Slovenians from the core regions and the liberation of the Slovenian colonies). Although our situation is not better now since the core regions are taken by enemies again, we fight a two-front war, and we were expelled from USA, but positive trends have started. As I know epics are organized on daily level so the tanks can improve in rank, we have foreign relations, we got opportunity for a new TW and host country at the Greeks. The only thing I didn't agree with was giving up the USA without fight and instead focusing on the punitive campaign against Slovenia.

What is your opinion about the foreign policy of Hungary, especially the relation with Croatia?

I have ambivalent feelings about this. On one hand I am happy that Hungary has an ally who gave very serious help in several crucial moments and more or less try to cooperate with us along common aims. For this we owe them a big thank you. On the other hand I find this relation somewhat asymmetric. Obviously the Croatians have much more active people, they buy more packs so their power greatly exceeds the Hungarian's, and they are more actively engaged in politics and diplomacy, but this doesn't justify the fact that in certain cases they manage things that concern the fate of Hungarians (too) in complete secret without asking the opinion of our government.

For example I strongly disagreed with making friendship with USA, since I believe the USA has no value as an ally, and this kind of approachment on the long term endangered the stay of Hungary in USA. Although this wasn't the direct reason why our colonies were eliminated there, but defninitely played a part in it. I am not in the information flow so I don't know the exact details, but as I know they made the USA approachment completely on their own and towards the Hungarian government this was realized only in the form of a request (do not take District of Columbia).

In my opinion there is a fundamental difference in the structure of the player community and leadership in the two countries, this can be the explanation for the different perspectives.

In relation to the success against Slovenia what do you think why the Asteria didn't help Slovenia?

This can have also diplomatic, political or personal reasons, but in my opinion the explanation is much more practical. If we see although some countries have/had very serious Asteria MPP stack, the big Asteria countries didn't fight for them, only if there was epic or giant CO. Then of course they sent NE or AS to the attacker and expelled it from their ally's territory or from their ally's sphere of interest.

My conclusion is that the citizens of Asteria countries prefer character improvement over helping allies too. Since hitting for Slovenia neither gives TP medal nor they can use the legend bonus, the Serbian and Romanian high rank legends from who most of the damage comes, fight in their own TWs instead.

We can see this on the Polish front too. As the time passes the MPP and the formal alliance is becoming devalued and wars will be conducted in the form of 1 vs 1. And within this framework the number of high rank legends and pack buyers who are willing to spend on the game, will determine the winner.

This is why the game trend is that big campaigns will start by a joint attack of 4-5-6 countries, this is how they can make the best use of a country's power and willingness to fight.

The best example for this is the Polish campaign. Although Poland had 20+ MPPs and the strongest MPP stack in the world, they lost easily against Croatia and Cyprus.

Did the determination update bring the oppressed countries in a better situation? Can this update decrease the depressing imbalances in the game? If it was up to you, what changes would you introduce?

To some extent brought them into better situation, because now it doesn't work that every month or second month when the determination in the old system started to go up they did a reset and deleted the victim for another months again. Now they have to change the occupier from time to time, and this brings the opportunity for liberation. See the case of Hungary. In the old system the Romanians and Serbians could had kept the original regions occupied for an infinite time, but in the new system they have to involve weaker countries (for example Slovenia) against who the Hungarians have real chance.

It doesn't decrease the imbalance, but gives a little bit more chance for the weaker side.

What would I change? Maybe I would introduce a medal for the damage on the liberation side in resistance wars. This could maybe have a balancing effect on the power relations. In my opinion the game developer's task would be to create game rules by which a community that has top5 activity, population and power, can't be deleted for months as the Romanians did with the Greeks.

Will you return to the Hungarian politics once?

Yes. I plan to return to Hungary in the near future and to assume a political role. Either congress membership or a government job, if the composition of the government will be acceptable for me. When will this time come, depends on when I will find a suitable successor for the management of the Slovakian affairs.

Thank you for the answers, thank you and rRonin for the opportunity that we could visit Slovakia and I wish you success for the future!
