In response - Congress / Independent Legion
Venerable
Greetings once more,
Unfortunately, I was unable to secure a seat in Congress. In fact, I was entirely decimated, my presentation reduced to ash. This came as no surprise to me, nor should it to any of my readers. It was a rushed decision with little advertising, and reeked of it. That being said, I intend to run once more next month, and perhaps some life can grow out of the ashes of my failure.
I would also like to congratulate Macubex8 (17 votes) and Andrew McKenzie Caine (9 votes), who each were elected in Manitoba, the region where I ran.
On a brighter note, I have been promoted to 2nd Commander of Independent Legion, as well as giving the duties of Supply Officer and what we call a "Noob Master," which is simply the guy who spends an hour or so twice a week to message all of our new members that yet to apply for our required job. I am very flattered to have been offered this position, especially since I am so new to this great comunity. However, Macubex8, our Commander, Nosyt, my fellow 2nd Commander, and Luke Peters, my predecessor, have felt that, due to my daily and frequent activity, that I am more than up to the job.
I would like to thank everyone mentioned above for your choice in selecting me for 2nd Commander. I will do the best that I am able to insure that you chose wisely, as I believe I have in the few days since the appointment.
Until next time,
Venerable

You do know what decimate means right?
I thought not.
"- Drastically reduce the strength or effectiveness of (something."
In terms of this election, and how I fared, the definition fits. Is this not English?
Thank you for the comment, however... irrelevant and petty.
always trying to belittle lol
Connor, if we used all our words by their etymological meaning, things wouldn't make much sense 😉
Well I mean, as we know things anyways. Practically it would make more sense if words meant what they actually mean, but language is dynamic.
"especially since I am so knew to this great game."
Your fails, they continue!
Er, I mean better luck next time.
Venerable....don't take it personally please 🙂
Just the second time I've seen decimate used incorrectly today. It set me off.
Nosyt...but there are other, better words. Like annihilate.
I'm not taking it personally at all, I just disagree with you xD. As I posted, a quick definition search will show that the word was used correctly, even if in a melodramatic way.
If we removed everybody from eCanada who sucked at grammar, our population would be decimated.
I'm just glad someone accepted the job 🙂
Decimate means to kill every tenth person in an organization. Thus for you to be decimated, you would have had to he the unlucky person out of 10, killed to punish the organization...
Aside from that good sir, I am sorry you didn't make it into Congress this time, I wish you all the best next month.
And Kushskins, that was a nice one!
Goran Thrax
Actually, Goran, whether or not he was the unlucky person out of ten he, himself, could not have been decimated - he could have been killed as the result of the decimation of his organization, however - because a single person cannot be decimated.
And once again, I am kind of amazed by the lack of comprehension. Perhaps I will restate the definition from above, with why I am right.
"- Drastically reduce the strength or effectiveness of (something."
I was running for Congress, and I failed to obtain a nearly third of the votes required. My mindset before the election was that I could win, with the support of MDP, of course. I quickly found, only part way through the day, that I would not win. My preconceived vote count was decimated, as well as my hopes toward winning.
According to that definition, which can be found here http://bit.ly/xumQux , I am correct.
To say otherwise is almost to be ignorant of 'grammar.'
Oh stop complaining already, most of the people on here don't know how to spell, at least he knows the word.
You all should be used to the bad grammar by now, sheesh.
This man is a piece of the future of eCanada, regardless of what definition he chooses to use, so long as it is a valid one, and so long as it does not take away from his point.
problem wit Venerable's gramar? i dunt see it.
