I survived a week of eRepublik and all I got is a newspaper

Day 841, 06:43 Published in USA USA by ArcNox

Well, I made it. Despite the boredom, the butchered english of Serbian and Indonesian Troll articles, and having to dodge a flurry of welcome messages, I managed to make it a week in eRepublik. So what now?

I guess I should start with my thoughts on this game:

*As everyone else says, the first 5 levels are BOOOOOOOOOOOOOORIIIIIIIIIIIIING. I can see how so many people quit in the beginning. It did help that there was plenty of help articles I could read to see what I'd be able to do if I stuck with it. And, let me tell you, there is plenty of help available, as long as you have an attention span long enough to actually read it, except for one thing.

*What exactly do I look for in an employer? Now that I'm going off to fight for my eCountry, that $1 a day wage simply doesn't pay for the guns. Do I simply go for the highest paying Q1 job available? Is it expected that I maintain a certain wellness level? I just couldn't find any advice on this.

*There seems to be a lot of animosity in here. When you write a poorly translated troll article, then have it mass voted to the top, then I think someone is starting to take THE GAME a little too seriously.

*The newspapers, if you can filter through the slew of trollpapers, really help to relieve the boredom of waiting for tomorrow to train, fight, heal, work, then fight some more.

Finally, a thank you to all the players who offered help to a poor newbie, homeless, jobless, with only $5 to his name, and the Flying Unicorn Squadron for a free ticket to move away from New Jersey in the middle of nowhere, to Karma Taco. Hopefully I can make it through many more weeks to come.

Till next time
