Indulge me, dear Subscribers. It isn’t very often that you will see me write an article endorsing a candidate for political office. You see I have a problem with people that tell stories to promote themselves when, deep inside, they don’t mean a stinkin’ thing they are saying. Making promises just because they think it will gain them an extra vote here and there. It seems the world is full of these people in today’s society. I have little patience with it, which is why I chose a military career and not a political one.

Today I want to introduce you to someone that has spent his eRep time actually DOING things instead of just talking about it. This man proves himself and his character on a daily basis. He’s running for Congress in the state of Washington on November 25. I AM going to tell you about a friend that I’ve gained, what kind of person he is, why I believe that he deserves your vote and why we deserve a person in Congress like him, an honest and hardworking man.

In this issue I’d like to introduce you to a player you should know:

Abayarde

I met Abayarde when I was a fresh-faced Trainee in the Training Division. Although I was not in the Reserves he was available to answer my endless stream of questions along the way. He has guided me, supported me, taught me and went above and beyond his position making me comfortable. I watch him do this on a daily basis with new citizens and trainees.

With strength over 10, when he could join almost any military branch, I wondered why he chose to stay with the Training Corps. “I had the chance to move on to the MI or the Army when the TC was restructuring, but I feel better about training soldiers to move on to those branches than moving on myself, it gives me a better sense of accomplishment to see one of them go on and be an officer in a higher branch.”

He really is “one of the good guys”. Fellow citizens have had wonderful things to say about Abayarde:

“He's been nothing but a joy to hang around with, he's got a good sense of humor and is easy to talk to. He's been instrumental in the creation of the Reserve Division, which works closely with my own and he shared a number of great ideas on making our methods more efficient, which allowed us to increase the size of our units without increasing the need for more officers.” says Colonel Relin, CO of the USTC Training Division.

“Abayarde is an outstanding citizen that has done his best for this country. He's very organized and active, and I think he would be a good congressman because of those two abilities.” says Ligtreb, USWP Party President and current Congressman.

“I have found Abayarde to be someone who is willing to work, not for recognition but because the work needs to be done correctly. I find him to be thorough in his reasoning and an asset to the military. I believe he is the type of person we should have in congress.” says Major Rod Damon, US Army (S2).
