Introduction
I'd like to launch my campaign for Country President of the eUnited Kingdom by officially requesting the support of the Workers' Rights Party and asking to be placed on the ballot for consideration for all other party's support.

Why do I want to be your Country President?
The 25th of February was my 8th year anniversary since I first ventured forth in this world and whilst my enthusiasm for this world has waned at times it's been a largely enjoyable experience leading me to be active every day and the UK is the foremost reason for this. What we've done, what we've achieved and our community. Most of you are to thank for this, so thank you.
So with the support of Congress my presidency will focus on preservation, progression and growth of our country together with you as a homage to our own individual and collective achievements as oppose to promising a month's panacea to coined failings that only I theoretically can solve as your Country President.
What is preservation, progression and growth of the UK?
Keeping in place the best practices and processes of previous Governments
Increase integration of the eUK society our alliance – Orion. I'd like as many of our citizenry know and feel the benefits of friendship and brotherhood with our fellow Orion member state citizenry. In practice this will hopefully mean increase involvement and co-ordination military operations with the MoD often informed priorities directly by Orion Command. As well as this increase integration I will seek to secure some additional critical MPP that will improve our security against threats.
Improve the Military Communication of the UK – This has been reviewed many times in the past however I'd like to have an another attempt to make sure the connections are as efficient as possible between our fantastic military units to achieve the strategic outcomes required by the Government and our allies. I'll continue to the practice of "in-game" PMs to Commanders and keeping the MoD Newspaper up to date however I'll also look to follow Congress' lead and set up a discord (external communication service) channel for all UK citizens to access to receive direct orders for the MoD if they chose to receive information in this manner.
Provide a fair and supportive government for our resilient and self-reliant citizenry. This mean informing them about the activities of Government and have the chance to contribute their say often. I'll also ensure that all my Government spend is transparent and recorded. I'll also ensure we continue to use tax money efficiently on the monetary market. A rough budget that I'd work to finalise with Congress would be;
40% for Combat Orders / Call to Arms (as required, invested on the Monetary Market when not required)
33% to retain in the treasury for Mutual Protection Pacts (PROTECTED This budget could have an increase percantage where required to cover our MPPs requirements i.e. we are on a low level of taxation and are not able to afford all our MPPs)
13% for direct monetary market investments
14% for a reserve fund for MPPs, MoD/COs or other Government spend (again as required, invested on the Monetary Market when not being called upon)
Finally I'll be active, approachable and resolute in leading and protecting the eUK answering "in-game" PMs and discord.
These will again feature during a term as Country President from me
Why can I be your Country President
I'm a long serving Minister of Finance which has continued to grow the wealth of the UK with the support of successive Country Presidents which has in turn given be a wealth of cabinet experience.
I'm the long standing Commander of the Free British Irregulars, with first hand experience working with a vast number of MoDs. This month I've taken this one step further by less passive and more active, taking on a supportive role in the MoD.
I've been shadowing the work of the MoFA for the past couple of months giving me first hand knowledge about the highest levels of our Orion Alliance Leadership / Command & control structure. I have also been Country President on two previous occasions although admittedly fairly in past....
Potential Cabinet
Prime Minister to provide advice, guidance and to help me provide a fair and supportive government to our citizenry.
Minister of Defense and deputies to provide a point of contact for military matters, to keep orders up to date and to help me improve the military communication of the UK.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and deputies to liaise with foreign Government officials and help me increase the integration of our society into our alliance
Minister of Education and deputies to provide the citizenry of the UK help and advice about their day to day lives
Governor – The day to day running of the MoF will remain in my portfolio as Country President
I've spoken to a few about my potential cabinet however I'd also welcome applicants so please get in touch if you'd like to form part of my cabinet. My door is open.
Promise
I'd like to keep the eUK going in the direction it's going by preserving what we do well, progressing new ideas and growing our military strength through improve efficiency in communication however my promise to the citizenship of the UK is communication and reflection. I’d like to reflect the majority of the eUK citizenship by working closely with the Congress chosen to represent them to choose together the direction the country heads.

We have a long standing policy of 6%
If you have an argument for a lower rate - make a reasoned argument. Young players should be getting food from the NHS and weapons from their MU.
Low taxes when we're not occupied usually means the rich elites lining their own pockets. Also why not propose import duties - at present we're flooded with cheap imports.
If you had followed the Alfabots proposal as he/she/it (shit) presented it then the gubbernauts would of prevented price gouging by elites with the 'market cap'.
Anyone saying 6% is correct is frankly telling new players like me to feck off.
We don't make a difference in fighting and told not to fight, we can't into politics as we can't be trusted or lack exp, we're now told not to work and try create our own pot of gold.
If you just want a load of drones who click and vote then want you really want is a programmer with a botnet not any actual players to join what is already a limited game.

Generally the advice on fighting has changed from "don't fight, just train" to "sod it, you may as well fight - especially in air battles". Like me, you'll never get to full on tank level, but only pack buyers can do that. that shouldn't stop you from enjoying the military side of the game though.
You definitely CAN get into politics and government - that's widely encouraged. You can also be active with articles and by getting involved in discussions, just as you have here.
Starting from scratch with companies is widely viewed as being unprofitable, or - at least - impossible to make stacks of cash. Wages are too high and prices are too low for that. I've played for almost three years and never turned a significant profit. However, that shouldn't stop you becoming self-sufficient and using a well-paid job to supply the majority of your excess funds. That is do-able. Working for communes and getting paid in supplies is also good - that's what I've done for the past couple of years.
Personally I believe in having a sensible tax rate that provides funds to the government for MPPs, COs, support schemes and entertainment. Nothing too high, but not virtually zero either. Effectively it comes down to what you believe - let everyone fend for themselves or have a funded government that shoulders some of the burden for everyone. You can't have the latter with excessively low taxes.
As Minister of Finance I offered Congress words of caution about a raise to 6% because of our currently high avg salary (£175.23 at the time I offered the words of caution) as it changes a WAM click from attracting around £1.75 of Work Tax to £10.51 of Work Tax Only two countries at the time in the world held a higher WAM click, Slovenia and Colombia.
Profit should remain to be had based on current market prices at Food Factories Q1 to Q7 and at Hunting Lodges for those with UK Food Holdings however the impact for those with UK Weapon Holdings profits only remain at Weapon Factories Q6 to Q7.
I think the UK daily income will be 23k a day (including tax returns from Lithuania) so good for the UK treasury.
However my caution was about the ability for our citizens with UK Holdings to remain competitive with our currently low import tax.
Although not a member of Congress (which ultimately decide the levels of taxation for Congress) I personally feel we need to review work tax (as 6% feels too high) and our other rates of tax to find a good balance. If I'm elected (or even if I'm not) I'm happy to work with Congress to find this balance.
Agreed - I suggested 5% just before the 6% was proposed and doing some quick calculations it appears 5% would make fisheries profitable as well.

So it would appear that I should not do any WAM until and unless we are back at 1% or I spend 20 or 35 gold on better farms?

Assuming you have your food production in the right region ie Y&H
1 fishery £10.52 tax produces 229 FRM which at 0.04 = £9.16
1 hunting lodge £10.52 tax produces 458 FRM which at 0.04 = £18.32
1Q1 food factory, £10.52 tax produces 182.38 Q1 food which at 0.15 = £27.36
for the food factory you would use 182.38 FRM which at 0.04 = 7.30
so you would earn £20.06 less 10.52 = 9.54 per WAM in Q1 Food factory

You forget to count energia used which is food you could of sold instead and also pollution.
The tax threshold that Khazak quoted came from a question he asked in MU earlier and is true.

You would make money at 4% tax using your started farms and food factory. 1% is if you only use the farms.
Even so it is only small change of 140cc @ 1% and as you work for me I know you make 2,800cc a week or if you like include deductions;
1% = 4.1G
4% = 3.9G
6% = 3.7G
If you want be mad then you should ask why you must pay 168cc per week when others pay <1cc.

I had ignored the energy used.
I think having read what's been discussed publicly and looked at some production calculations myself, I can see exactly where Khazak Don is coming from on this issue.
£10.52 per WAM is way too much, we've not taken into account the huge rise in Average Wages since we first agreed the 6% - with an average wage of £35.00 the same WAM would have cost £2.10 and although there has been an increase in prices since then our bonuses are not as good apart from food.
In fact looking at my figures even a WT of 1% would not make WRM profitable with an Iron Mine - so it's important to consider what factories and where they are placed.
The problem now is 2% is too low a WT - 3% or 4% is going to have to be the long term rate.
