Liiga > NHL
No Cup, no hockey!
NHL😛lastic money league. Players only playing for money in foreign cities while fatties eat popcorn and shout "go team go".
But Finnish goalie is going to take that plastic cup anyways.

I've got to agree with Dill on this one. It's hard to take this tournament seriously if not all the best are actually playing. It's the same reason nobody cares about Olympic football.
That said, despite all that, Canada still managed to win over 30% of all tournaments and earned a medal in over 60%, even while including a near decade-long boycott.
But hey, a win's a win. Enjoy it! If you keep up this pace, you'll pull ahead of us in total wins before 2050!
P.S. I'm sure I'm one of only a handful (or fewer) Canadians who appreciate your (by our standards) obscure Moomin reference. (Obscurity confirmed by Chrome's spellchecker.)
It's not obscure at all, it's Mörkö-Marko.
I think that works better in Finnish. In English it's the Groke.
Probably.
I didn't even see any Moomin reference, and I'm always lookin' out for Moomin references in Finn articles. So it must be obscure. Tho admittedly all I recall of the Moomins was the little hippos and the weird drawn people.

There's a video that will explain the moomin part
The best hockey was being on the ice, as for watching I can take or leave it. Still have my Hyde Red Lines here somewhere.
My company use to buy season tickets to the Canuck's then we decided we could rent a rink once a week and we could all play for less money then those two season tickets. Best decision ever.
How come there aren't any Canadian teams in the NFL? NHL has 4 teams. Heck, even MLB has Toronto on the American League and had my beloved Expos (RIP #😎. What about football? The CFL had a handful of American teams back in the 90's but, there has never been a Canadian team in the NFL. Canada has a strong football tradition and hockey is about as exiting as lacrosse these days. Everything is scripted and choreographed. Hockey 🙁 football is where its at!
There's been rumors that the Bills would switch to Toronto, but they played a few games there down the years, and it seems the demand was never worth them changing city. Not whilst they have the fanatical support they do in Buffalo. At this point its more likely Mexico or, and most probably, London gets a team before Toronto or any other Canadian city. The guy who owns the Jags recently bought a stadium in London and they already play "international games" there every year, they seem strong candidates to make the move, tho ultimately I don't see it happen.
A Canadian team in the XFL should be a thing tho somewhere down the line, that's if the league lasts and doesn't fold after a few weeks like the Alliance.
