Herr Vootsman: Asteria's Coalition Leader - The Interview!

Day 5,397, 08:23 Published in USA USA by Hillary Clinton1

Hello everyone, it is the first time i make such an interview, i always try to do something new and bring more interesting interviews for our community. Today i gonna share the interview i have made with Herr Vootsman the MoFA of eUSA and also the leader of the coalition Asteria (Asteria) the strongest coalition, but he also a very good friend of mine 🙂 , i had the honor to interview him and ask everything i had in my mind, but i also gave a small stage to Paul Proteus eUS current CP to answer few questions, i really hope you will enjoy this interview, so have fun reading 🙂

Hello Herr Vootsman, the MoFA of eUSA and also the leader of the Asteria coalition, thank you so much for agree to make this interview with me, but before we start would you agree to introduce yourself first?

Sure – It’s a pleasure to answer questions. Just for background – I live in USA and have been playing eRepublik since 2009. I mostly stuck to domestic affairs and was not a gold beast back then. I ended up running for President of eUSA back in February 2021 – with plans for a peaceful term, to focus on internal affairs, education for newbs, etc. What happened instead was the mass banning of Asteria accounts, sudden change in the balance of power and ultimately a massive invasion of eUSA by Code countries. Somehow I ended up as president for 7 terms and now I’m Secretary General of Asteria.

- Tell us about the way you lead the coalition in the war against "CODE", do you cooperate with other countries leaders areas to strike?

In general, members of Asteria HQ determine the big picture plans, and then the Supreme Commander makes the actual battle plans. These battles are then coordinated with Asteria countries, and other allies and friends, such as Hydra and Spain.

- When Asteria fight on other countries lands, out of the coalition a neutral countries, there is any talks with those countries leaders?

I personally message and in communication with any country eUSA occupies or swap through. I don’t think this is always done by everyone else, however.

- How the war between the coalitions effects the countries economies?

For the most part, very little, however the resource regions of Russia generate a large amount of taxes, and depending on who holds them, it can interfere with the ability for people to work as manage. Perhaps a month or so ago, Ukraine was holding Western Siberia, and this caused problems with people in Indonesia working in the weapon factories, ultimately prompting a fight between Ukraine and Indonesia.

- There was any try to negotiate between the coalitions?

Yes and no – It’s a war game, so it’s not like I’m trying to find a way to have a lasting peace between Asteria and Code. However, on a country to country basis or with regards to various regions, many deals are offered, and sometimes they are accepted.

- Can you tell us about the start of the war at the east front from Russia to China and to South Korea?

I’m not sure the best place to start, but prior to invading Russia, Asteria had occupied Caucasus after using them to swap countries into Iran (which as liberated along with a wipe of Turkey). I may remember the exact details wrong, but as I remember USA was in Belarus with Lith, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, Spain – Croatia had a region there as well. We were trying to get initiative on Croatia and Russia put NE on us (using Alaska border), ultimately, we defended that attack (in Belarus) and counter attacked into Russia cores. Fairly quickly, the western regions were taken, followed by excellent blocking by Argentina and Mexico. Once they were cleared, Croatia landed in Western Siberia (on USA) to block our advance. Continued attacks, and I recall Lithuania doing an outsized job, lead to complete wipe of Russian cores, with USA attacking East from Alaska.

- eGreece have a very powerful military force how did the coalition succeed break their defences and take over their lands?

Military strength is only one part in defending a region, coordination with blocks and swaps is important as well. At the time Greece was conquered, Turkey was also occupied, which made it easier to get initiative, since laws and attacks could be launched from Turkey, Bulgaria and FYCL3. Croatia was no in their cores either, which also made fighting easier.

- There is any coordination between the units of the countries with each other or they just follow the orders?

It's far easier to coordinate air power, so there are a variety of cross-national groups that will fight in air in Asteria battles. On ground, due to protector bonus and TP cash, it's generally a lot harder to get people to fight for other countries.

- How do you summarize 2 terms working under Paul Proteus can you tell about the relationship?

While Paul, as President is my Boss - I'm also his boss since he's my #1 employee at Vootsman Heavy Industries. This is pretty much how things work in government.

-- I have decide to ask Paul Proteus the same question, his answer was:

"Working with Voots is incredibly easy, he is so deeply invested in our foreign affairs and relationships with Asteria that I'm able to directly talk with him through anything going on, and he can relay immediately what we need to do taking into account every angle"

- Herr Vootsman can you tell us about a large operation the Asteria coalition have made and how much time takes to to carry out a large-scale operation?

It depends on a lot of factors. For example, about a year ago, when Colombia and Peru were occupied by Code (this was shortly after USA was liberated), I planned an operation to liberate those regions. It consisted of pretty much everyone air striking on Tuesday, and then swaps/blocks to ensure we had initiative on remaining regions. USA landed on Hungary in Venezuela, which is why we are still there today. It was over in a week.

-- The same question was sent to Paul Proteus he also answer this question:

"At the beginning of my last term Voots helped us coördinate our movements in Korea extremely effectively, and this month, even as we've faced setbacks, he's helped mitigate some bad situations we could have fallen into in terms of preserving training wars"

- Your the commander of Asteria alliance but also the MoFA of eUSA, there is any disagreements between you and the president regarding military responses? If you want make for example a strike in a region but the president think it might be a mistake and not allow this attack

Yes, this does happen although not that common. It typically occurs when our planning team wants us to put laws on someone (often for initiative not for real attack), usually we do it anyways 🙂

- There is a difference of the actions Asteria will do between an attack by a country from "CODE" alliance and a country that is not in any alliance?

I think our actions are more based on the level of threat and strength of attack, than which Alliance is doing the attacking. That said, the vast majority of attacks on Asterian countries are from CODE countries.

- If you could change or add ANYTHING to this game tell us 1 things you were pick to change/add and why?

Q7 air weapons, they only go up to Q5s, I'd like them to make Q6 and Q7

- Before we end, there is any last message to our readers, your friends, and the community that read this interview?

Be excellent to each other, and PARTY ON DUDES!
