Hello eWorld of mine,

This past week we witnessed how Latvia cowardly closed the border to a fair battle, wiped Belgium in retaliation and then has found some other cowards to launch an attack on the UK. Latvia opened and fought for Belgium in the resistance war for Flanders, to not border the UK who offered them a fair fight in return for them leaving Belgian soil. Belgium that has been in this forced TW for too long has always more or less stood on his own because, hell, who gives a damn about the little Countries.



I have been putting off writing about it because I am suppose to be the Minister of Foreign Affairs and considered a diplomat. Of course I do not want to harm the future negotiations we, the UK, will have to do to get our regions back. Maybe we can even get a lasting fight out of it for the time being when the whole world mostly sticks to the fantastic, boring, shiny, farmville erepublik version.



Talking to various people in multiple countries and alliances the past week or two has made me think about a lot of things. Today I want to give you my thoughts on what I learned about the UK, on The Alliance Orion, on The Alliance Pacifica and on The Alliance Asteria.

The UK

The UK is nothing more than any other dried out small country in this game. Yes it is a hard verdict and maybe you will find two or three people to tell you the opposite but I wouldn’t hold my breath on it. Given the long history of hard demeaning internal politics it seems even now, when there are less than a handful people actually politically playing, players from opposite fractions can’t communicate let alone work together enough to have a united country. Always players dig back into history to justify why not endorse each other, use mis- or non communication to make the other fail. It will probably not go too well with my party when I say that they are a good example of what I am trying to say. Not endorsing Mad Pauly for CP is a good example of how history stands in the way of common sense. Even when the past month there were only 3 really active and 2 semi active players working for the UK. Roachford, Mad Pauly, myself and the semi actives I will count Chaz and Huey.


On to the decision to provoke war with Latvia:



Yes I agree there was little communication from within our Government as to when, why, what we did,when we did it. Talks in Orion had been going on from the beginning of September to create more activity in the alliance to give Orion a purpose of being called an alliance other than calling ourselves buddies. Talks including me talking with Belgium on how it was a lame move from Latvia to not give the TW a rest when asked. Our CP had a dream of an alternative TW which would maybe bring more sparks in fights than the farmville training wars that are all over the place. Latvia was made a proposition for such an alternative training war since they had a border with the UK every time they occupied Flanders. That way they didn’t need to make an extra cost of Air Strike and they would go from one TW in another. They obviously refused this special training war as did many other countries by the way. When we learned from Belgium their people would really like a break from the same old one way fight on their soil we offered Latvia again to come fight us instead of the Belgians. Meanwhile Orion was still talking and talking and talking and got nowhere near a decision on what would be better for the alliance than just sit around and fall asleep. The UK was not alone it it’s believe we should have a real goal and strengthened by that fact I acted when I saw an opportunity to open a front with Latvia without their consent. Fully knowing if they were to invade they would outgun us 5 to 1.

Knowing this, and they must know it themselves too, it is ridiculous and out of proportion what happened after the initial NE proposal. Latvia alone can outgun all of Orion at any time so why would they need 3 extra countries to attack the UK and run in front of each others feet? I am no tactical mastermind but even I can see it is overkill and utter stupidity. If Pacifica felt threatened as an alliance the could have first talked to us or if they wanted to teach us a lesson they just could have send in Colombia and Latvia on their own and this might have been a fun intermezzo where the end result would still be the UK getting wiped.

I hope in my political players heart that these events wake up the dying population in the UK and makes us fight to be proud Brits again although until now it is the same old I have seen the past few months.


Alliances

On this subject I could go on adding a few pages more to this already tl;tr article. So in general I am going to say that Alliances have lost their true meaning. These days alliance is a synonym for world peace or at the very least an economical agreement.
Asteria protects Pacifica, Pacifica is very careful to not upset Asteria and the rest of the world can sod off. Orion tries really hard to not piss off Asteria, Pacifica and the Gunners because we are so weak and pathetic we can’t afford to do anything else. Every step we make, every corner we turn Asteria and Pacifica tip the balance it to nothingness. Even if we were to make a bold move to side with the Gunners we would always end up screwed as they say. Maybe at some point Orion was a true satellite alliance from Asteria but under the current situation it isn’t anymore. These days you sign MPPs to belong everywhere and nowhere.
