Editor's Note

Day 1,801, 07:31 Published in South Africa Brazil by Jaco Slabbert

I've been playing eRepublik for around 3 months now, and it seems I'm only now sinking my teeth into the thick of it. It has become quite evident during my time here that it is a rather overwhelmingly large game with more in-depth elements than probably any other browser based game. (I was talking about other browser games here, but it seems eRepublik keeps rejecting my article when I mention their names!) So in essence, there is one called *N*A*T*I*O*N*S*T*A*T*E*S a rudimentary nation simulator that isn't TOO complicated (been playing it for about 5 or 6 months) unless you play the forums. The problem, of course, is that the forum-play and the browser-play aren't interlinked or really THAT relevant to each other...

That brings me to the point of the eSA forums and eRepublik itself. At first I got into the game and focused on merely training, working, etc. I did make a huge mistake of blowing all my cash and gold right at the beginning; not really understanding how challenging it is to make cash and gold in the game I'm a little bummed out by it! BUT, I digress, the point is that once I realised how difficult it is to make cash/gold, how expensive upgrades could be, and after reading a lot on the forums, as well as through in-game articles, it dawned upon me how important the interactive component of this game is.

Time to get out of my box!

That's the next part of my focus moving forward. I want to thank WastelandENT for helping me and offering to mentor in certain elements of the game. I'll be spending more time moseying around the forums moving forward, it seems that's where the real magic happens... especially with regards to playing the political component of the game. It is rather overwhelming, as I've mentioned earlier in the article, so I'd welcome any guidance, articles, etc, that could help to define a "starting point" as such. I've just mostly been reading the political parties's posts and trying to wrap my head around the greater wholeness of the game. I do, however, feel like I arrived half-way into a really complicated movie, so bare with me!

hehehe, *bear* with me... oh, I crack me up...

So from the Desk of the Editor, I bid you adieu. Let's hope I'm not too half-arsed, and that I do actually end up writing more articles instead of just giving up (or fading out) like I did on so many things (learning to play the guitar, writing my blog consistently, those are the things that come to mind among many others!)

So for now, yeay for eSA, woo-hoo for a great simulator like eRepublik, and let's see how it goes in the forums! I'm going to make like a Jewish foreskin and be off...

Nope, not a picture of a foreskin. That would be in bad taste...
