Economic Module Debacle

Day 1,298, 14:45 Published in South Africa USA by Champinator

Day 1,297- I turn my computer on. I get on the internet and go to eRepublik. I log in and what do I see? People complaining about some new features. Just a regular occurrence so no reason for alarm. Then I see the problem: economy skill was gone. All that hard work, effort, trying not to miss a day of work, just all gone. I was infuriated and the media module wasn't even working. Conspiracy much?

Day 1,298- I follow my same routine. My head is more calm, but I start to think more about the repercussions of the previous day. I've been playing this game for over a year, closing in on two years, but I'll be producing the same as someone who just joined. I'll get paid the same as well. But I'll be able to eat more because I'm a higher level, so these ginormous tanks you see in each battle will be able to tank even more: great. The food market is screwed now because people will have no need for buying food since they can make their own. So there goes my business endeavors. To say I'm pissed is an understatement. I am absolutely livid. This game is becoming centered around fighting and luring people into buying gold. You can't use the monetary market anymore since the rates are so ridiculous. This leaves using your credit card as your only option for obtaining gold. Sure you get some gold from working for 30 straight days, but that will become a thing of the past as people no longer need to work for others when they can make their own food. Also, 30 days is a long time for getting only a measly 5 gold. And then there's the Super Soldier gold. But again, that takes a long time to acquire unless you spend even more gold on boosters. Farewell my friends, because this game is now an oil tycoon. They know there are no rivals to this game: that's why we still play it. But they're slowly degrading it and making it more expensive. Maybe you can stand up and keep your wallets closed and minds set on prospering without real life money. Just maybe...
