Does Being Resident Work Out, Over Remaining Nomad?
Michael Ludgate
I'm still a nomad (no city of residence), this is because of the 'you can no longer turn off houses' rule. Typically I'll have Q1 and Q2 running 24/7 and Q3/4/5 on just before lvl up, turned off just after for a 1h loss to durability. This allows the higher quality houses to last for a long time. Assuming I don't forget and leave em running (does happen). Also if I can be bothered I'll stagger turning on houses before week start, and turn off again just after. Don't care about the moving costs as I'm a Mercenary anyway.
Assumptions and some calculation
Q3/4/5 have a M.V. cost ~ 155k
+20% durability bonus, would be worth 31k.
Nomad cost per activation (Q3,4,5 / 16😎
~ 1,070
1 lvl up and 1 week start activation per week is ~ 2k weekly
Nomad ~ 15 gold per month @ 550 conversion
Resident cost per hour ((155k - 31k) / 16😎
~ 738
Weekly ~ 124k | monthly ~ 537k
Resident ~ 977 gold per month @ 550 conversion
~ 10.3k per +1 energy per week
Pro
+12 per tick | +144 per hour | +3456 per day | +105k per month
Con
75 times more expensive or ~13k per +1 energy than a PP.
Conclusion
On the basis of the 12k per +1 I looked at the PP I'm buying each month.
+20 energy for 15 gold cost (based on refund of accidental 2nd pack purchase, ignoring value of other pack items).
15 gold ~ 8.3k @ 550 conversion
The pack lasts for a month so ~ 1.9k weekly cost
1.9k / 20 = 95cc per +1 energy per week
Resident weekly +1 standardized / PP weekly +1 standardized = 126
126 times more expensive than a PP
Aside from minor differences in play-style, rounding, etc. Am I basically on track and it's just really frickin expensive to be resident or is there something else. Seems it's only really worthwhile for those with huge amounts of in-game gold/credits in proportion to what they deposit via buying PP. Maybe I'm missing something else and that's what really makes it worthwhile?

What you are doing is not logical at all.
Having 5 active houses with no residence and at the same time you are not a BH hunter.
I can only conclude you are loosing a lot of currency for nothing.
Thanks for commenting. MoEd
Energy is gained every 6 minutes, therefore +12 per tick = +120 per hour = +2,880 per day = +86,400 per month.
Due to the weekly rewards, the energy earned at the beginning of the week is also compounded by earning you extra energy gains later in the week. And you should be gaining extra EBs from that as well. Hard to calculate the total effect though since it entirely depends on how far into the weekly rewards you get by the end of the week.
Other than that it's hard for me to comprehend what you're trying to accomplish as we have very different ways of playing (I don't use houses, don't level up, don't use overtime, etc...).
I did what you're doing for a while before taking up residency. Do you get the durability bonus on houses if you don't have a residence? In addition you also get the energy recovery and extra health capacity from the central park by being a resident - this is 2 every 6 mins and a max capacity of an extra 50, something that is beneficial if you don't have packs at all. In addition the bonuses together with all the houses are important in helping to maximise your chances of completing the weekly challenge and/or maximising your progress each week.
Yeah, I pretty much discounted the bonus to energy storage as it's so low compared to the packs, also it's only active for 30mins after travel, which means you've got to several fights and return, repeated 2 or three times a day. I did look at the bonus to durability and include in calculations above, you don't get this as nomad but nowhere near enough to offset the cost of having to run houses 24/7.
Being optimal to fight as often as possible to increase recovery points, it's only beneficial while sleeping, etc. to have high energy storage - and for level up. This in turn means the majority of the time Q3,4,5 are providing a couple of recovery points but the capacity isn't utilized. To my mind, it would still be a marginal thing if Nomad is really a good option due to all the other costs I've not touched on such as the various tax, etc. So much that Plato could have just allowed houses to be turned off still for residents.
