Connell - Marcus Probably Innocent

Day 1,800, 13:37 Published in Ireland Ireland by King Connell

Familiarity, that is what struck me over the last few weeks in the Irish media.

It has all happened before you see, incompetent government structures giving thieves an opportunity to rape the country and it’s people of it’s resources. Back in the day it used to happen at least once a month, literally at least once! Few will remember, but look back just over two years ago and you will find all the stories, funnily enough involving the same “trustworthy” citizens that you’re expected to believe this time around.

The plundering of the country’s coffers wasn’t the only eerily familiar story that resurrected this week. The ILP allowing Sawc’s theft was familiar, but Nogin’s article was a carbon copy.

Just over two years ago in September 2010, things were looking up for Ireland. Previously a country where political groups had been extremely divisive, a country so poorly governed that no alliance even wanted us. Suddenly there seemed to be a new understanding of the common will to improve the country. Then came the presidential election which showed that there never really had been any progress. The two candidates, Donovan Thomas(DT) & me.

Looking back now, I can see how my first election article might have been seen as provocative. Back then the national army was the IDF, it was a symbol of Ireland’s divide and political inefficiency. Unfortunately DT had been in charge of it the term before he ran and like basically every other month before, it had been a bad one.

Nogin was president at the time, Nogin & Moo defended their government and DT. DT himself responded with a series of lies designed to thwart my campaign. It wasn’t working and what followed I found astonishingly reckless and unconscionably immorale.

Nogin acting as CP in her last address to the nation, a day before the election strongly insinuated that I was the person who robbed the bank from eIreland that month. Although it soon emerged that I never had access to the org the gold was in there was no apology, as her false accusation was no mistake. It was instead a poorly planned and clumsy lie designed to blacken someone’s name for political gain. There is little disputing that.

Considering I won the election, their slander campaign must have been deemed a failure. Maybe this time they decided to put a little more effort into it or maybe, just maybe, Marcus the person who has sold out friends before because he felt it was better for eIreland, the man who has spent hundreds of euro and potentially thousands of hours trying to improve the country risked everything for a little bit of money...

Now I may be wrong, I often am, but let’s examine the facts.

Nogin in a position of power has before written libelous articles, Marcus albeit with his erratic actions now and again has always loved eIreland. Marcus may have done some erratic things in the past, but his unhealthy obsession with eIreland is one thing that can always be depended on.

It is those that speak like gentlemen that are the most deceitful.

P.S. I’m not back, I heard about the situation through the grapevine. Knowing Marcus so well and considering Nogin’s past I thought that the new eIrish people needed to put this weeks events into context with history.
