Common Sense Part Two.
Random Irish Guy
Okay, so as a number of you are aware,2 days ago I wrote an article called Common Sense. where I gave my opinion on the current political situation this country is in and asked for opinions of the general public as well , to make things more interesting I thought I would leave the answers for Part II rather then reply to each person individually, so please don't think I was being rude hahaha because I was not.
Now before I begin I would first like to thank those 12 people who voted my article, Thank You all for taking your time to read it and I hope you all enjoyed it I will continue to try produce articles that people may find interesting , and with that in mind let's begin.

The first person to comment was Mary who had this to say.
Mary you asked what I didn't like about the current situation, well the situation in Ireland is always the same, Ireland has some capable government ministers and others .. not so much , I dislike how much power a foreign government has over us, irrespective of how that war with the British went for us , we gave away some of our national pride along with those provinces and it's going to take the bravery of the Irish people ourselves to get back that pride, while also another thing I don't like about the current situation is the minimum wage/salary. 0.10 IEP is appalling, how is any new player or citizen supposed to get on their feet without the charity of others with the minimum wage that low? The truth is they can't, and with barely any money, buying food and weapons becomes a problem and without these ranking up does too..I am even having trouble getting back on my feet.
I was looking at our country's economy and saw a list of our resources .. we are self-sufficient in iron and fruits, that's it .. we need to rely on imports for the rest , even though our island has cattle and fish , two resources we need , yet the government does nothing about it.
What I would do is simple, I would begin to start negotiations with the other camp and start to make alliances with British allies, if you have a look at the map you'll see that some of them control vast areas, I would also begin making it a national policy to (i) Kick the British off of our island and (ii) attempt to gain at least one province with each resource, that way we wouldn't need to rely on imports. ( I realize this mightn't be possible but still I will throw it out there) and finally (iii) I would raise the the minimum wage and lower taxes so that it will be easier for new citizens and indeed new players to get on their feet a lot faster , and hopefully our country will be able to enjoy a population growth as a result.
The second person to comment was Ian and he had this to say
Ian I agree with what you are saying , we need to make a plan and get every citizen involved, we need plan very carefully and be realistic, I mean we are hardly going to be conquering Poland anytime soon, but we do need to start getting the ball rolling and start preparing for action, even baby steps are better then being idle, we shouldn't overstretch ourselves but we shouldn't let the whole world think we're a walkover , do we? I do think we should attack at the right moment, but there's no harm in preparing now even if the attack doesn't take place for weeks, or even months from now.
The third person to comment was Victor and he had this to say.
Victor, as outspoken of a man as you are I can tell straightaway you and I are in agreement about 2 things.. 1. The government ministers (including the CP) could have done more to inspire the citizenry to resist the enemy before making peace and 2. If it weren't for us, the British would have a free hand to interfere in other parts of the world because of the constant rebellion and as a result they have to keep a close eye on Ireland rather then elsewhere.
But Victor I would like to inform you that I am a real life Irishman from county Waterford, and that is one of the reasons why this occupation annoys me so much.
The fourth person to comment on was Sweet, who is the CP , Sweet had this to say
Okay so Sweet , First off you say that we have 3-4 provinces ''free from the threat of a UK invasion'' , let me first point out to you that there are 7 provinces in Ireland, 4 are held by the British , three by us, the only reasons those 4 provinces are ''safe'' is because they're already occupied by the enemy, I don't know whether you signed a treasonous peace treaty like Kurgan said or not , but the goddamn fact is you didn't do enough to lead an effective fight against the enemy, maybe we would've got wiped, but we could've kept fighting back by RWs until the British got fed up and offered peace on our terms, there's no way to achieve peace with honour unless that peace was imposed on them by us, not vice versa!!
The remaining comments are not answerable , but I would like to thank Achab Collins, your messages helped to restore some self-confidence in me , thank you my friend.

A good article, indeed. Thanks for your words!
I'll keep aside the NAP stuff, said I think every treaty can be negotiated and also re-negotiaded.
Minimum wages are an important issue for people like me, working on their own and self supplying their fights (i never received a single food/wep by any org, the only food/weps I received was from my friends). I have also an employee, I give him 15IEP every day. I made minimum wages a central point of my congress term (long ago!).
However, many eIrishmen are working in communes. Actually, most of our oldiers get food and weps in exchange of their daily work, instead of getting money.
We should accept that Democracy works like that: we have to do what most of the citiziens want/deserve/need. Nowadays, with lots of communes doing a very good job (think about IA and Boot Camp supplies!) we simply cannot raise the minimum salary at an "acceptable level" for free workers like me or we will see communes (and people) starving to death. The end of the communes system would mean a disaster. I'll try to explain my analysis of the economic scenario i figure out.
Even earning more, people could not afford the same quantity of weps they got in communes. Everyone would try to sell his products (mostly q1 and 2 food/weps) in order to get some IEPs to buy q6 or 7. This would cause a mess with prices: price of lowest quality goods would sink and highest quality goods prices would raise A LOT.
Such an action would destroy Ireland.
peace to all o7
BTW, maybe lowering of VAT on food could be a good deal...
and weapons 😛
Well said. I also wrote an article about Minimum Wage a while back:
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/learning-the-ropes-minimum-wage-explained-2161641/1/20
It may be of interest to those concerned about minimum wage.
With all the reason i said...it also annoys me to see any part of ireland in british hands even i am not rl irish.
But one of the problem is that people who also claim to be rl irish strongly support this NAP crap.
Sweet, conway, ibhoy, marcus..most of kunts
Personally i am more then happy that there are real RL irishmen who are pissed with this coward behaviour....
couldn't have said it any better myself
Honestly, the NAP was a pretty fair deal. The only reason we had a chance was the TWO invasion of the US and Mexico. When that ended, we would have had Poland and Spain all over us, and that is NOT a position any country wants to be in, especially one as small as ours. The idea behind Cork staying British is to fend off a possible Spanish invasion. And to be honest, we did attack them first, breaking an NAP of I remember correctly.
Come on. Is your pride really worth more to you guys than your country?
the NAP was broke by the muppets we had in power in September, I was a congressman for Northern Ireland in the Irish congress last september, I was one of the congressmen who voted against the N.E , we also need to show the world that TWO isn't invincible , they will get fed up of constant rebellions, bear that in mind mo chara.
It seems that common sense isn't that common at all..

Forcing people into commues some how would be the best plan
I want to keep my salary job!!!
Killing free market woul be not such a good deal... maybe is a good plan for the Military Module, but the Economy (already a lame module) would suffer.
The economy only exists to fuel the military. Killing free market is a great idea
ok the minimum wage is 10 cents because of communes. as the commune worker gets up to 90 IEP WEPS in return for his days work that is not a bad deal. get yourself in either the boot camp or Irish Army.
As to regions not certain whether the other 2 or 1 we could have gained would have improved out bottom line that much. Invasion by spain would however have taken all of the regions and left us with no resource bonuses.
