Canada Joins the Siege of Britian, Indonesian Empire Crumbling

Day 795, 17:18 Published in USA USA by Desertfalcon

With Spain and Sweden losing the initiative against the U.K. EDEN desperately needed another ally to keep the siege of the U.K. alive. Soon after EDEN lost the initiative it became evident that the empires of Poland, Spain, and Sweden were not safe as the U.K. could now bring in their MPPs to use against Poland and Sweden. Sweden has already lost one of their Danish regions and while Poland has Spain to serve as a buffer zone, a Spanish loss in Lower Normandy would of left their French regions vulnerable. To make sure the U.K. had no chance of advancing further into main land Europe, Canada launched a blocking attack on Wales.

Canada became the third country to launch an offensive into Britain and while none of them have served to be more then a simple blocking maneuver, Canada's actions may of just saved the Siege of Britain for EDEN. The attack should give Sweden enough time to regain the initiative against and after that Spain should be able to attack as well barring a PHX blocking maneuver. France hasn't been much of a threat ever since they were beaten back to Corsica where they no longer share a border with Spain. Italy could still block but they would have to activate Spain's MPPs since they don't border any Spanish regions in France. Germany though, will get a free war with Poland or Spain as soon as either one of those countries attacks the U.K. through a chain reaction war so their could be some trouble there.

The U.S. still hasn't taken a shot at the U.K. despite all the hype and the fact that they are the only country with a large a population and so many MPPs to use. While there is no real reason for the U.S. to be in any rush we likely won't be seeing any British regions fall until the U.S. brings in their MPPs to take some pressure off their other allies in the siege. Canada's involvement could signal that we are close to the entrance of the U.S. into the war, but it's all up to the president whether or not we attack.

The U.S. military though, has been helping out in South Africa's war against Indonesia which means the invasion of the U.K. probably won't happen today since the U.S. will likely be focusing on the fight down there. South Africa has just managed to hold off an Indonesian invasion and now is looking to take back the rest of the Indonesian held South African regions. Indonesia used to be a superpower back in the beta and early V1 days but over the past few months the country has weakened as their numbers have dwindled and they lost most of their Asian territories. Now their empire which once stretched across four continents, could be gone if South Africa succeeds in taking back the two regions Indonesia still controls. Without these regions Indonesia's status as a world player will take a great hit so this is an important front. Expect more to come as this war develops.
