And Then Hope Came Along

I have seen the light, and it is wonderful. To be honest, I thought eRepublik was slowly dying, mostly from the Admins incompetence. I'll admit it. But I'm writing this article today to say that life is looking up! The admins have been listening to us. They changed V2 to something that is actually pretty cool. Most of the changes they have made are in accordance to our desires. The new war module is awesome.

Better yet, it took only one day for them to make it, and in only a few days they addressed the following:

"Speaking about your feedback, until now, we have gathered 3 major suggestions from you: remove happiness, the booster to instantly defeat your opponent and the fact that the current hospital is helping too much the defender."

Considering the Admins track record, this is outstanding. It usually takes them several months, and thousands of lost players to admit a mistake or fix something.

I don't want to get your hopes up too much, as all this progress could be easily changed. However, all of this is a reassuring sign. If the admins continue down this road of listening to us, this game could be a success. It could be fun again. It could be so much. We're used to all the Admin-bashing articles, so I'm bucking that trend. I'm waving a cookie in front of everyone. The Admins have to keep listening to us. But we the players, also have a job to do. We need to hold the Admins feet to the fire, as we've been doing.

Perhaps this is opening a new chapter in eRepublik. One where the Admins and Citizens of the New World are friends. This is the light at the end of the tunnel. Many issues still abound, but if the lines of communication are open, there is nothing we cannot solve!

"The purpose of a writer is to keep civilization from destroying itself."
(Yeah, I used it twice. It's just such a great quote.)
