Disagree! It's rated as appropriately as a generally neutral flavoured ice cream should be.

Vanilla is a classic flavour like chocolate.

But for chocolate ice cream, it's not as satisfying because you have a higher expectation of it. I.e., because it's ice cream it must be awesome, AND because it's chocolate (flavoured) it must be awesome, so the expectation is usually somewhere doubly awesome, hence it occasionally falls short of or doesn't exceed the raised expectation, thus chocolate ice cream isn't as satisfying.

Vanilla (flavour) on the other hand is alright/cool/sure, and ice cream is awesome, so the expectation of vanilla is the expectation of ice cream in general. Vanilla tends to be more satisfying because of lower expectations from it being underrated.

Isn't that a little like saying that a convertible Cadillac risks sucking because it's got the double duty of being both a Caddy and a convertible but that you can never go wrong with a Honda Civic?

I do kind of see where you're coming from though. A lot of chocolate ice cream basically tastes like brown vanilla ice cream. And you're right, when I try vanilla I fully expect it just be white, bland ice cream and that I'd probably be surprised if it actually tasted like vanilla.

Well, I would if I bought crappy ice cream. I don't buy ice cream often enough to justify buying cheap crap, especially with a number of good ice cream joints around - and Ben and Jerry's brownie whatchamacallit at the corner store - though admittedly you've got to shell out for quality.

Food does tend to be my splurge item, though. Well that and hookers, booze and blow. Only the finest Bolivian flake for me.

I'm impressed that the helmet appear to be real metal. I'm now wondering if he's holding back on us and has more armor. A sword. Battle mace maybe.

Chapman's sucks. You can taste that it's low quality but at least it doesn't try to hide it.

Their ice cream sandwiches are still very satisfying.

I actually agree with you there but I'd add an "oddly" somewhere in that statement. They've got the texture nailed down but the cookie part doesn't taste like much of anything (nor does the ice cream, to be honest).

That said, it's been a while since I had any Chapman's. Probably since I stopped being a camp counsellor. We used to give the campers a popsicle every day for a snack. Despite everyone's personal opinion that two of the flavours sucked and one was good, we never really had a problem keeping them satisfied. It was like magic.

I agree with Chochi... Chapman's is nasty... does bad things to me.

Great video, but spend a buck or two extra for something a bit better than Chapman's next time - (almost) all flavours are good so long as you have quality.
